steps from Petra entrance

Wonderful! The rooms are very clean and spacious, hot shower, wonderful breakfast and the staff is helpful. It's one of the closet hotels to the entrance of Petra. I've stayed at expensive 5 star hotels that weren't as nice as Petra Edom Hotel. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel. Spring 2014

Best of the cheaper hotels near Petra Gate

Posted May 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
Perfectly reasonable hotel, service etc - exactly what would be expected for the star rating and price. The location does set it apart, amongst the cheaper hotels, it is amongst the closest to Petra Gate. The only evident opportunities for improvement are the shower water pressure and temperature (cold and limited pressure) and lift (there is one very slow one and hence big queues at check in/out time).

Overall it was good. The hotel is about five minutes walk from Petra. The buffet breakfast and dinner were very good with lots of selections. The room was clean. But there was no instruction in the room as to how to operate the TV and the telephone. Two electrical adaptors were broken. I had to use the adaptor I brought with me to operate the refrigerator. It took many tries to get the new adaptors.

Great location and service

Unbeatable access to Petra, and super service from the front desk. They helped us arrange transportation from the border and even sent someone to facilitate the border crossing.

Cons: Better food and perhaps some European options
Location: A few minutes walk from Petra entrance, some cafes very nearby.
Room good, food local and just ok, no alcohol available, staff helpful as ever in Jordan

Stuff is very friendly but the hotel is very old, room was very small and not bright at all. No maintenance of the facilitice of the room. Stuff has good manner but in terms of information service was poor. However, the location was excellent. 5 min walking to the main entrance of petra.
