Excellent location

Posted Dec 30, 2013
Cons: Air conditioning too noisy
Location: Massages, excursions, bars, restaurants, Tsunami museum, local market
Located directly at the beach, nice pool and sufficient sun benches with excellent pool service, restaurants and bars of Village only a few steps away, some nightlife but fortunately in a very relaxed way, everything very convenient

Love, love, love this place.

Pros: The staff
Location: Eat dinner at My Friend, you won't be disappointed. And if it is not on the menu they will make it special for you.
This was our second time staying at the Ramada Khao Lak and it was just as good as we remembered. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, the breakfast buffet is great, and the pool was perfect. Also, just up the beach are several restaurants that serve cheap and fabulous Thai food and drinks (we loved My Friend). We plan to go back again next year :)

Value for money resort!

Posted Sep 21, 2013
My husband and I just stayed 6 nights a this nice resort. Now we have stayed at the JW Marriott in Khao Lak which is another level higher in service & quality but for the price and location you can't beat this hotel. It's a small resort with only one pool but it is not overcrowded at all. Breakfast was sufficient. We were dissappointed with the general activities not available, like yoga, Thai boxing, etc. we booked this hotel especially to be able to participate in these but nonetheless we did use the complimentary mountain bikes for a trip to Chong Fah Waterfall and complimentary 'turtle conservation' trip which was great. Lunch specials around the pool and yummy and cheap and 'happy hour' with 2 for 1 drinks runs from 5pm to 6:30pm. 2 cocktails for 190THB! We mainly ate at Tonson Beach restaurant just a short walk up the beach (turn left on beach). I've been to Thailand a lot and this restaurant has the best Mussamum curry ever! We also enjoyed the chicken cashew nut stirfry. Value for money resort, especially if you have young children, as some rooms come with 2 queen beds which allow 2 kids to stay in the room free. I think breakfast costs extra but not much. I'll definitely be returning and bringing my kids next time!

Good family hotel

Posted Jul 28, 2013
Pros: Pool area, good selection of English channels on TV also, good wifi.
Cons: nothing to be honest
Location: The area is very quiet and family orientated which suited us.
Great Hotel, very friendly helpful staff. Facilities are well maintained. Prices in hotel are similar to UK hotel prices. However if you go on to the beach and turn left you will find several good beach restaurants. Tonson is one of these, which is very good and very well priced.

Close the beach, local markets & restaurants

Posted Jul 14, 2013
Pros: WiFi connection.
Cons: Local market, restaurants, parks for elephant trekking, beaches, turtle farm, temples etc.
love the location of the resort, right on the beach. However, it was rainy season so didn't get to enjoy it. Through very friendly hotel staffs, found some neat local stores, markets and restaurants with in 5-10 mins walk. Not to mention about the inexpensive Thai massage outside of the resort. Also the Thai people are very nice and genuine, especially, the local taxi drivers. They took us to different places, such as the Safari, Khao Lak National Park and the turtle farm. The drivers act as a tour guide, showed us around and even served us water about the elephant trekking. One of the drivers even bought me fruit before he picked us up at the resort. I really enjoy the location a lot out of the way from the big city Phuket. There are a few things to mention about the resort, their WiFi connection is really slow and weak, selection of DVDs were dates, the DVD player in our room made really loud noise during the movie. We normally wouldn't use much of those facilities, but it rained so much that we had to spend some time in the room. Best time to travel to Thailand would be Jan, Feb and Mar.

A great resort on the beach

Posted Apr 13, 2013
Pros: The friendly staff and pool area
Cons: Some staff had trouble with the English language but it didn't take long to find one who did.
Location: It was a perfect spot on the beach and close to restaurants. Not a lot of shopping close by though.
Friendly staff, great food, clean rooms and relaxing feel. We stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed every night. There are a few small restaurants on the beach nearby. Great area to stay if you're interested in snorkeling or diving. The staff were very helpful and understanding and did whatever they could to help.

exceeding expectations

Posted Mar 20, 2013
Pros: The Location and staff, Rat, Toh and Nidnoi the eco adventure rep stick out in my mind, but all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Struggled to come up with a negative, only one I can think of is signage to the hotel is not great and our taxi driver struggled a little finding it.
Location: On a beautiful quiet beach
From start to finish this hotel and its wonderful staff exceeded all my expectations. After a little mistake on the first night with the softshell crab ;), the staff involved went out of their way to ensure myself and my wife where looked after. Im sorry Sandals you could learn an awfull lot from this hotel. If I could have put 6 out of 5 I would have. cannot praise these guys enough and its easy to see why they get sold out so often. Well done Ramada Khao Lak.

Great hotel

Posted Jan 4, 2013
Pros: everything
Cons: food and beverage prices
Great hotel. Lots of small reataurants and shops in area. Much quieter than phuket but only an hour away. Hotel staff friendly and helpful even though some issues with language barrier. Food good, pool good, beach good.
