Nice motel for travel from Utah/Vegas to LA area.

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: Staff, cleanliness, location, price, breakfast, etc.
Cons: It would be nice to have a restaurant next door or within a block or two - for those who don't want fast food.
Location: The location is great, especially if you don't want to hassle with a lot of traffic late at night or in the morning. It is convenient and peaceful.
This motel is located in a mountain pass and is just off the I-15 freeway. This is an excellent motel to stay at if you don't want to stay in the crowded LA area. It is a short 30 minute drive to Claremont or other nearby cities. The driveway to the motel is on the side of the gas station. There are couple of gas stations and a few fast food places close by. We arrived late and the night desk person was extremely helpful in getting us checked in. The doors open to an outside covered walk way so we could park close to our room, making moving luggage to/from our vehicle easy. The area lighting is good and we were not worried about our safety. Our room was clean and did not smell of smoke (non-smoking). Our room had two queens, a large flat screen TV, small fridge, micro-wave and the usual hotel amenities. There are train tracks up on the mountains above the motel and the freeway close by. I barely heard them once or twice during our three day stay. I slept good all three nights. The motel has a weight room, outdoor swimming pool, hot tub. My travel companions said the hot tub was just right. We had a good breakfast - choices included: fruit, cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins, etc. Price was reasonable. Family friendly. We stayed one night in room 104 and two nights in room 106. We changed rooms so they could replace a cracked handle in the shower. Very nice place. I would stay there again. Thumbs up to the staff who were very polite and helpful.

Nice hotel between the mountains

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Very clean and well kept. Room was tidy and smelled good. Very nice.
Cons: Staff could be a bit more welcoming. They weren't terrible but the guy at the desk was pretty flat.
Location: Gas station/Del Taco right outside the hotel. Not much else nearby.
This hotel is not the fanciest place in the world but it is a very nice little hotel in a cool setting among the hills. Staff wasn't bad but not overly friendly, then again I checked in at 12am so he could have been tired. The room was great though, price was reasonable and the place was clean and very well kept. I liked it a lot.

Ok for train enthusiasts!

Posted Jun 9, 2013
Pros: Was not as noisy as expected with two very busy highways running past.
Cons: Quality of mattress not as good as other hotels/motels we stopped in.
Location: On busy highway junction with nothing around it except for petrol station and fast food outlets.
My husband is a train enthusiast and wanted to spend the time in the area as it is a busy place for trains going through the Cajon Pass and so we booked this hotel for one night. Staff were friendly, nothing much around the area only the very busy highways. Would be ok for train enthusiast/s or anyone wanting a stop off point between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Staff thrown in the deep end.

Pros: Cleaniness of the rooms
Cons: Reception area both checking in and checking out
Location: Difficult to locate
The only let down was the reception staff, and due respect to the new lady that was on as she had been thrown in the deep end and the senior staff member was of no help when she was having difficulties which in turn made our wait to long. Room was faultless, one of the better ones we have stayed at.

Nice and convenient.

The staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean. Free continental breakfast was great! They had a very nice setup for the buffet, and offered things I wasn't expecting like biscuits and gravy. There was a Subway and a gas station across the street for extra convenience. Overall a good place to stay for a short trip.

Not impressed

Posted Nov 11, 2010
I requested a non-smoking room online as well as at check-in as I am extremely allergic to tobacco. I was however, given a room that had been smoked in and not only suffered severe allergies, but also my clothes smelled of smoke the next day.

Nice hotel at the foot hills of the mountains. Very relaxing and the room may have everything you may need. Breakfast is very good.
