Reviews I read were pretty much right on

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: I liked almost everything.
Cons: Sound proof the windows and doors but that may be impossible to do being in the middle of a busy city.
Location: Good area so that you could walk to eat or visit the sights. I left the car in the parking garage the entire stay.
I was actually willing to pay for a really high dollar hotel for my stay but after reading the reviews of the ones I was considering paying at least twice (if not three times) as much for I ended up booking here. My wife and I spent hours reading reviews of the most expensive per night stay hotels on several booking sites and Yelp and so on and I picked this one and was not disappointed. I wasn't looking for something with impressive lobbies or meeting rooms that I wasn't going to use anyway. I was looking for a comfortable room for two where I didn't end up with bedbugs or having to deal with accounting problems paying for the room or whatever. I read the previous reviews so knew that road noise was an issue so was prepared for that and I didn't complain, just put ear plugs in and went to sleep. We booked on this booking site so had no choice of actual room numbers or floors so what I got was what I expected. Staff were all quick to help or answer questions. They were painting some walls in the common areas and I was missing a couple of items in the bathroom so couldn't give those a five but neither of those were an issue to me. Our room was as clean as we have had anywhere at any price.

We had a pleasant visit at the Alexander Inn. The staff was friendly every time we saw them during our two day stay. Their continental breakfast was fresh and well stocked, with an employee working very hard to continuously refill silverware buckets, brew fresh coffee, etc.

Great find in Philly!

Great hotel staff. Fantastic stylish decor. Really made to feel like a home. Warm feel helped by staff. We could walk to most things or a quick cab if we were in a hurry or with luggage.

City Style

Pros: The quiet charm of this hotel makes it a wonderful place for us to stay
Location: You are walking distance to many of the shops in the area. There are several nice restaurants as well.
The Alexander is a comfortable cared for establishment. From the moment you arrive the hotel staff make themselves available to the guests. They have a wonderful buffet breakfast and a coffee / tea bar available around the clock. The room was comfortable and clean. Being in the heart of the city put us in relative location to the many things that Philadelphia has to offer. We stayed there to celebrate an anniversary and will return again.

Stayed overnight during a snow storm.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and it is a nice, quiet hotel. The breakfast they provide was very good.
Location: I was there for work so I wasn't looking for things to do.
I needed to stay in Philadelphia for the night due to work, and found this to be a charming and inexpensive place to stay.

Always nice to stay at the Alexander Inn. Close to Broad St. and a marvelous staff. It would be nice to have some breakfast meat and cheese for continental breakfast.Miguel
