Amanda, Thank you for the 5 star review! I am delighted you enjoyed how we transformed a 100 year old neoclassic building into a cool hotel with great rooms. I hope we have earned your return business. Enjoy your summer, Evan traveler tip: while some of our rooms have urban views, you can reserve a room with a view by selecting the "superior" room type when make your reservation.

Fantastic hotel right downtown

Pros: Decor and location
The hotel is one of the nicest i've stayed in bar none: the modern style and artwork throughout, the spacious rooms, great views as well as the fantastic location make it a must if going to Philadelphia. The staff was equally friendly, special thanks to the valet upon checkout who was particularly professional. I would without a doubt stay here again and highly recommend it.

Nice hotel stay

My fiancé and loved the interior design of the room. Very modern and cool. They gave us a room on the top floor. Room was very clean and had a great view of the giant paintbrush and convention center lights. Had dinner at Amuse which was nice too. Overall a great stay would definitely stay here again if we went to Philly again.

Booked online for a king size bed but they could not accommodate so my wife and I slept on a twin bed. Plus if getting room through expedia you can not claim SPG rewards.

Overall nice hotel for the location. Prefer the Inn at Penn but LeMeridien was a better location. Would stay again but overall it was a bit pricey considering the accommodations.

Great hotel in good location

Location: Across the road from City Hall, 2 blocks from the amazing Reading Market and only 15 blocks (an easy flat walk) to Independance Hall.
Really nice new hotel in a great location. Across the road from City Hall, 2 blocks from the amazing Reading Market and only 15 blocks (an easy flat walk) to Independance Hall. We had an inside room with windows facing into the business centre atrium. Very sound proof though but would request an external window if you wanted to see outside. Didn't bother us though. Huge room, huge bathroom and it you opted for no house keeping they gave you a $10 voucher which you could use at the bar!

If you get a street view great view of City Hall

Room was clean but for the price I expected more. Just bare bone toiletries. The staff was helpful. They recommend a great local diner for breakfast.

Nice hotel trying to be more than it is

Posted Apr 11, 2014
Pros: Modern decor, cleanliness.
Cons: The lobby experience and flow is just not to my taste at all. I disliked walking into the bar. New mattresses would be great. I slept in a pothole.
Location: Slightly off the path, it's a 10-15 minute walk to Rittenhouse square and the main shops on Walnut Street. Very close to City Hall.
Entering onto the bar with an unclear path to the check in counter is the first odd thing about this property. It's an interior facing structure, where all the windows view the sides of other buildings. The decor is modern mixed with older architecture, but the flow is all off. Rather than fresh and cool, it feels awkward and disorienting. Especially if you arrive back to the hotel when the bar is more full, then the entry is crowded with people and it's hard to navigate through to the elevators. What should be open pathways are blocked with large groups of furniture and areas left open are strange. At one point during my stay, there was some sort of event and a banquet table took up the already narrow and only usable passageway to the lifts from the entry. The furniture, lighting and finishes are all lovely and nice, but the awkward space was a deal breaker for me. A mattress with a permanent valley from previous guests and the fact that the location is just enough off the beaten path means I likely won't stay here again.

Sam, Thank you for sharing your experience. I apologize that you didn’t find the hotel to your liking and certainly the mattress should have provided you with a great night sleep. Our hotel does have a very different arrival feel. When we rescued this century old building from demolition, we worked with the historical commission to protect as much as possible. In the lobby area, it left us with only one location for the bar, immediately when you walk in. Thank you for the great comments on the furniture, lighting and finishes. Thank you again for your feedback and I hope we will have the opportunity serve you again. Safe travels, Evan
