Beautiful roomPosted Sep 19, 2014
We stayed at the Morris House Hotel for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon in the USA. Our room (301) was beautiful and very nicely decorated. As a period house there were a few creaks and struggles with old (original) doors but this added to the charm of the place. The bed was amazing and very comfortable! The room had a large number of TV channels available and free (occasionally patchy) wifi. There were no hot drinks facilities in the room but were available in the lounge downstairs all day along with warm freshly baked cookies at 3pm each afternoon! We would sightsee in the morning and be back for these every day!! The continental breakfast was great too with a choice of cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurt, pastries and freshly baked banana loaf and carrot cake! Yum! We didn't get chance to eat in the restaurant during our stay despite the wonderful sounding menu. We would do tho if we ever make it back to Philly!

Lovely historic boutique hotelPosted May 9, 2014
This is a lovely hotel, located very close to the historic heart of Philadelphia. It has a lovely lounge and breakfast area with open fires. Complimentary happy hour drinks and breakfast are included. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, are a little dated, but in a old fashioned quaint way. The rooms are very peaceful and quiet and the beds are very comfortable.

a good choice for boutique accommodation in PhillyPosted May 5, 2014
Pros: Location (close to the historic area of Philly and the Walnut theatre), its old-world charm, the open fire in the lounge, the breakfast room.
Cons: not much-it's very nice. Judging from the bathroom in my first room, a bathroom makeover or two wouldn't go astray
Location: close to the historic area (Independence Hall etc) and Washington Square. Stumbling distance to/from Talulah's Garden Restaurant (highly recommended).
I stayed at 2 different rooms at the Morris-the first was in the main building. It was very comfortable and quiet, but perhaps a little on the "tired" side. For example, the bathroom could have done with a renovation. My second room was an "extended suite" in the so-called coach house. It was fabulous. Very roomy (separate kitchen and lounge) and obviously quite recently renovated. Also more pricey (but worth it, given what I heard some of my colleagues were paying for accommodation in Philly at the same time). The shared lounge was nice, and very cosy with an open fire (a good place to meet other guests and plan dinner venues!). Service on the desk was a little patchy. Breakfast was excellent. Would stay here again, but would definitely choose the coach house if my budget allowed.

Historic atmosphere and close to the sitesPosted Apr 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
The atmosphere and location were perfect for our visit to the historic sites. We loved that the hotel was in an historic building, yet with modern conveniences. The Early American architecture and decor go perfectly and created just the ambience we were looking for. It was very cozy and clean. Our room was large and the staff was friendly. The only negatives were 1) trains rumble under the hotel- but that did not affect our sleep and 2) the water pressure in the shower head was practically non-existent: barely any water comes out. Other than that, it was a lovely place to stay.
So BeautifulPosted Mar 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
We loved the Morris Hotel! It was beautifully decorated with antiques. It really was more like a a bed and breakfast. The staff was great and very informative about the area. It was very nicely located, close to sights and restaurants. We could walk everywhere. This establishment will get our business again when we return to Philadelphia. It was staying in someone's beautiful home.

Historic, beautiful, and incredibly comfortable!Posted Mar 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was easy to find and absolutely lovely! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, absolutely gorgeous (I'm a huge fan of antique furniture!), and exactly what the website said I would get. I will definitely be looking to stay here again!

Very comfortable - huge room!Posted Mar 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
I arrived late at night and the staff were amazing. The weather was freezing but my room was warm and cozy. It was more like an apartment than a hotel room. The bathroom is a little outdated but still very clean and functional. Would definitely stay again. Perfect location for a mix of shopping and touring.

Charming Hotel with Attentive StaffPosted Feb 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
The friendly staff made us feel welcome from the start, giving us a tour of the sitting room & breakfast room before showing us upstairs to our mini-suite. The entire hotel is furnished with antiques, and everything is in good working order. We enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine in the adjoining restaurant. The hotel is conveniently located in Philadelphia's historic area and is a short walk from numerous attractions and restaurants. We will definitely stay there again.

Front Desk staff very helpful with billing and reservation adjustments. THe room had a constant water trickling toilet that required plunger twice and the sink stopper not work correctly. excellent job of keeping walkways clear during snowy days.Location very good for our needs so worth the price. Also close to National Historical Park sites.
