Great Value and Location.

Posted Nov 13, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Possibly longer hours for breakvast for those who are sleepy in the morning
Location: Lots of museums, restaurants, penn's landing, pubs, subway on and on.....
Location is really good. You are on the east end of old city where the majority of museums are located. Less than a block to the subway station market & 2nd st. The subway will take you anywhere you want to go for less than $2 each way. Lots of restaurants, pubs, shops nearby for whatever kind of tastes you have. The hotel managment seem to really care that everyone enjoys their stay. We had one small issue which was rectified right away which shows they care. It is an old building with lots of character and the rooms are on the smaller side which is expected for these types of older buildings. Hotel lounge has massive supply of wines and good happy hours daily.

Well located and good value

Posted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: Location and quiet room. Copes well with the restrictions that apply to a historic building in terms of internal and external dimensions and d├ęcor.
Cons: At the specification and price it is good value. No realistic improvement can be identified.
Location: Plenty of bars/restaurants within 10 minutes' walk. Whole of historic area of Philadelphia is walkable. 10 minutes to the start/finish of the tours.
Stayed one night after a conference visit. The location is good - on the edge of the old town and within 10 minutes' easy walk of many varied bars and restaurants. Hotel is simple, but great value. Rooms are quiet. Would definitely stay again when in Philly with leisure time available.

Nice Hotel; Good Location

Posted Oct 31, 2014
Pros: Location, comfort, cleanliness and very good linens! Fireplace added plus. Charm of older hotel.
Cons: Was there on a Wednesday night; wine bar was advertised but was closed by 11:00.
Location: Location, even though close to interstate, and our room was in front, not much noise. Walked to center city easily and easy trip to sports events.
Was pleasantly surprised at how close hotel is to all attractions. Easy access to concert location. Room was clean and very comfortable with a gas fireplace! Large bathroom and CLEAN! Breakfast ok...parking convenient. Would stay again.

Our favorite place to stay in Philly

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: The pristine condition, comfort, and aesthetics of the rooms; the location is perfect, too.
Cons: We can't think of a thing that should be changed.
Location: Penn's View is in a perfect location, right in Old City, close to Metro, restaurants, shops, and historic sites.
We have been staying at the Penn's View for years and have never, ever, been disappointed. It's always immaculate and luxuriously comfortable. The staff are consistently courteous and helpful, and Panorama Ristorante is right there! Accommodations are priced well, too, and this time we were upgraded to a beautiful room with a large balcony and gas fireplace. However, every one of their rooms we've stayed in has been wonderful, including the super comfortable and clean baths/showers, towels, and bath robes. Our stay, this time, was no different from others - superb! We highly recommend Penn's View.

Wonderful location next to historic district

Posted Oct 23, 2014
Pros: It's European ambience, the excellent restaurants and the cordial, helpful hotel staff. The bathroom was great.
Cons: Our room was very dark with only one window. Lighter walls and window treatment would help. Also, there was only one easy chair with room for two.
Location: Mostly, being in the historic district was such an advantage to walkers like us.
We wanted a hotel within walking distance of historic landmarks and this was just right. We were able to walk on the riverfront as well as to and from the historic landmarks with ease. the bus service was excellent as well.

Great Place to Stay!

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Telling guests not to come down in their bathrobes to eat breakfast!
Antonio at the front desk was excellent! He was more than accommodating, friendly and went above and beyond! Loved staying at this place!

Charming Old City Experience

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Very enjoyable overnight stay. Everyone on the staff was delightfully friendly and the building itself had great character. Continental breakfast included excellent scones and muffins along with boiled eggs, cold cereal, fresh fruit and a remarkably good waffle maker. Location was perfect for exploring excellent art galleries, odd shops and historical sites in the at the edge of the Old City. Our top floor room overlooked a quaint block at the end of Market Street and was certainly comfortable, despite a few quirks that we consider par for the course in properties of this type (some fuzzy TV channels, a bathroom floor repaired with mismatched tiles). Another member of our party had a charming (albeit not bright) third-floor room with exposed brick on one wall and a painted mural on another. The wine bar, of course, is extraordinary. (We did not eat in the restaurant.) Although a possible downside is that the hotel is across the street from a major highway, our room was well-soundproofed -- which became very apparent when we opened the door to the mini-balcony -- and we did not hear the traffic at all. All in all, we had a lovely experience and we look forward to a return visit.
