Nice location in Old City

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: The staff and the location.
Location: Nice area to walk in with plenty of shops and restaurants. Convenient for public transit.
This was my second trip to Philadelphia with my (now legal!) daughter. Decided to stay in Old City area this visit and we made the right choice. We arrived after midnight after a very long drive and the gentleman at the front desk offered us some fruit and yogurt but we just wanted to sleep. Lots of interesting little shops and restaurants in the area and a Starbucks around the corner (I'm addicted to Starbucks!). Nice area to walk around and the buses and subway were right outside the hotel when we wanted to take transit. The complimentary continental breakfast was more than substantial with a beautiful fruit tray, cereals, yogurt and toast. Guests could also boil some eggs or make their own Belgian waffles! Very nice. We ate dinner in the hotel's restaurant (Panorama) one night and the meal was awesome. The service was impeccable, the food sublime and 120 bottles of wine by the glass! Our wine flights were well chosen. We were treated with some house-made Limoncello at the end of our meal and it was a perfect ending to a wonderful, but short, trip to Philadelphia. My daughter preferred this smaller, and older, boutique style hotel to the major chain hotels we usually stay in and I have to agree with her. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Walking distance to places of interest

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Cozy room with traditional setting & comfortable bed. WiFi service was excellent.
Cons: Have a variety of food selection for breakfast.
Location: Near Penn's Landing, Betsy Ross House, Elphret's lane. Visitor Center is around 4-6 blocks away from the hotel
Stayed 2 days in Philadelphia for 2 days. It was an awesome experience It was worth buying the Philadelphia pass to ride the Big Bus. Ride the Ducks & to get admittance to other Museums/places of Interest that are not Free. Had Lunch @ Reading Terminal Market - Oysters Sandwich @ Pearls' Oysters. Yummy ! Tried & enjoyed the Lobster Roll @ Luke's Lobster while my husband ordered their Shrimp Roll. The Philly Cheese steaks @ Campo's was also delicious.

Classy hotel, great location, excellent staff

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: Each room is unique - more like a European hotel. Great staff and the free complementary breakfast is served in a quiet room on real china.
Well above and beyond the chain hotels. Located in a 1800's warehouse, Penn's View has unique rooms, an excellent restaurant and a staff that goes above and beyond to help. It is located withing walking distance of both the waterfront and the historical district and is right next to the major bus lines and subway.

Great location

We had a wonderful stay at Penn's View Hotel. The location was perfect. Close to the Pier and all of the 2nd street restaurants and fun. It was only a couple blocks to visit the historic areas and easy walking. We felt safe and plenty of options of transportation if needed. The room was comfortable with a historic rustic feel. Very comfortable bed. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. The FREE continental breakfast was very tastefully done. Plenty to eat and a very romantic dining area. Everyone was friendly and very helpful in making our stay a good one. Like most places in the area they do charge a parking fee to stay. We took the train and subway to save a few bucks that way.

Cons: A little pricey.
Location: There is tons to do nearby and lots in walking distance.
I always like to stay at this hotel when I am in the city. It's quaint, the staff is pleasant and accommodating. I love the jacuzzi tub! It's close to everything. It is a little expensive, but worth it!
