First-Class! Amazing Staff!

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Everything! The staff really cares about its guests, whether you are a first-timer or not. Great location!
Cons: If the rooms could be a bit larger, that would help. But, seriously, nothing.
Location: Entire historic district entrance a two-block walk from hotel. Train station a 3-minute walk. Bus transportation 30 seconds away from hotel.
Stayed overnight for pleasure. Staff was amazing! Several times I needed directions (rail and bus) and they went out of their way to help me. As I left that evening for a concert, it was raining. Without my asking, they offered me an umbrella to use for the evening (at no charge). Rooms were clean and comfortable, albeit a bit small. Parking lot (separate from hotel ownership) attendant was extremely courteous as well. Location to historic downtown couldn't be any better. Same for proximity to bus and rail transportation.

Nice, convenient, good value for money

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Cons: Heat was loud, and breakfast was in a nice room but very ordinary.
Location: Right around the corner from the Franklin Fountain which has amazing homemade ice cream and yummy drinks! Walking distance to Betsy Ross house.
Room was comfortable, nice and clean. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.

Great Hotel with One Misstep

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: The location was perfect for our stay and within walking distance of everywhere we needed to go. Free breakfast is a great amenity.
Cons: Make sure that housekeeping takes care of all rooms unless directed otherwise.
Location: The historical sites, restaurants, shopping and casino are all nearby. It's very easy to get to the Avenue of the Arts for events from this location.
The charm of the hotel and the staff welcomed us. Our room was comfortable and a perfect fit for a couple on vacation. The one glitch was that housekeeping never came to our room even though we stayed two nights and informed a staff member that we still needed service. Since we were only staying two nights we didn't make a big deal of it. The breakfast is a great amenity with plenty of choices and the staff made sure the items were well stocked especially during the busiest times.

Nice Hotel Close to Everything

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: We liked the charm and character of Penn's View. Also the staff, from the front desk to the ladies restocking breakfast, everybody was great.
Location: Penn's Landing, Ben Franklin museum, Liberty Bell, Constitution Hall and other historic places. Franklin Fountain Ice Cream Shop!
Charming hotel with great customer service - every person we interacted with was pleasant & helpful. Location is great; close to historical sites, great restaurants and subway stop. Good breakfast with more than the usual choices. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful, boutique inn in Old City.

Posted Feb 27, 2015
I always look forward to visiting Philadelphia and staying at Penn's View Hotel. It is in a great location, with lots of great attractions, restaurants, bars and public transportation nearby. The hotel has the feel and charm of a family-run inn. Can't wait to go back!

This is a wonderful historic hotel. It is situated in the Old part of ton and close to everything. The staff is always superb and the restaurant is very good and wine bar (largest in the world) is worth a look!

The staff was incredibly helpful every time we needed something, and this inn is right around the corner from a street full of great restaurants and bars. A few blocks away from all the historic landmarks and museums. Room was clean and some even have a fireplace!

Great location

Posted Jan 6, 2015
Cons: The rooms are small and the fixtures are outdated.
If you're looking for a quaint, non-commercial place to stay in Philadelphia, this is it. The location is perfect. You can walk to historic sites, the river, shops and restaurants. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent (Panorama).

Beautiful restored historic hotel

Posted Dec 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
Beautiful restored historic structure in the heart of the Philadelphia historic district. No detail was left out in the restoration. The rooms, lobby and dining area were beautiful! Service was excellent and very personal. I will definitely return, and wholeheartedly recommend!
