“A great little hotel right at the heart of Philly Centre”

Great place to stay right at the heart of Philly's centre. A unique little hotel, nicely decorated and very well kept. Food & room were excellent, staff was outstandingly friendly and helpful, great location. Very different from staying in one of those big hotels in the same area for the same amount of money (done that, liked this one more). Only thing you may want to note: The breakfast that is included is fine, but it does not include things like the as-you-design omelet or the freshly squeezed juice. I think the small addition for getting exactly what you want type of breakfast is totally fine, but don't be surprised. My only suggestion: Have some *really* good (french) pastry and coffee. The current variety and taste are fine compared to standard hotels, but they can do more to stand out.

“A Gem in Downtown Philly!”

We have stayed at this hotel twice in the last couple of months and love it. The location is ideal, downtown. If you like small hotels with a very personal touch, this is a great place to stay. The staff is so welcoming and helpful. They can't do enough for their guests. We will use it again and again and heartily recommend it.

“What a Find in Philadelphia!”

Can't wait to go back to this intimate hotel. Fantastic staff - so friendly and helpful - they made us feel truly welcome. The hotel is in a terrific location and just beautiful. Our room was small but it didn't matter, given what a gem this place is.

“Lovely & Charming”

Last week I stayed for three nights at the Rittenhouse 1715 and I was very pleased with this absolutely lovely and charming hotel - lots of attention to details. The lobby reminded me of a living room in a nice home in Europe; the staff is warm, friendly and helpful; my room was spacious and impeccably clean; lots of little things that make a stay so enjoyable: complimentary morning newspaper, continental breakfast and the evening wine "happy hour". It felt like coming home after a long day of sightseeing...The location is fantastic: at a corner of Rittenhouse Park, surrounded by wonderful cafés and Brasseries and an easy walk to the city center. Bravo to the staff for making their guests feel so welcome! Would I go back? In a heartbeat... Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely

Area recommendations
Philadelphia museum are so wonderful and should not be missed - among others, the Museum of Art & the Perelman Building - the Penn Museum (University of Archeology & anthropology) - The Ben Franklin Institute - all amazing stuff! The colonial American history at Independence Hall & neighborhood; Plan lunch at the Reading Terminal Market; the lobby of the Comcast building is remarkable and a quick walk through Elfreth Alley to see the last remaining 30 homes or so homes from William Penn's time.

“Boutique hotel, personalized service”

Rittenhouse 1715 is all about personal service, a rarity in most service businesses today. Located on a quiet side street around the corner from Rittenhouse Square, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well appointed. There is a free breakfast (omelets and organic juices extra), and you can relax with a complimentary glass of wine from about 5 - 7 p.m. If you arrive by car, you can hand off the keys and the staff will park it for you at a nearby garage for about $15/day, a bargain compared to the exorbitant "valet" rates most hotels charge. But it's the hotel personnel themselves that deliver the best experience - a welcoming attitude that makes you feel wanted and appreciated. After this experience, we can never stay anywhere else, and will be back.

Area recommendations
We like the area around Rittenhouse square, although there are several "major" hotels in and around the Broad Street area, several blocks away. Anywhere in central, midtown Philadelphia should be fine for all the city has to offer.

“Good and Bad”

The staff was very nice and accommodating, especially when making a reservation. They advertised continental breakfast and wine/appetizers included in the room rate. That was one of the reasons we stayed there. Breakfast was just OK and very little wine/appetizers. Also, during our 3 days stay we didn't have hot water in the shower at least 3 times. But the rates were reasonable through Expedia.

Area recommendations
Rittenhouse Square was a great area with lots of interesting architecture and restaurants, but touristy areas still within easy walking distance.

“Great boutique hotel in Philly, convenient to restaurants and Rittenhouse Square”

Ideal location, right around the corner from Rittenhouse Square. Close to restaurants and the square park, plus many nearby shops surround the square. The staff was very attentive and took care of me. The hotel was off the main square so very quiet. It used to be a carriage house but they have updated it with nice furnishings and modern conveniences. I would highly recommend it!

Area recommendations
Rittenhouse Square, great restaurants, nice park in the square, lots of people, nearby shops. I would also recommend the Constitution Square with the Liberty Bell and shopping nearby toward the water.
