Amazing Hotel

This hotel is amazing! During check in we asked for a late checkout and they allowed us to stay until 2pm. The room was wonderful and the bed was the most comfortable ever. Hotel is close to lots of restaurants and bars, the room service is good and affordable if you want to stay in.

Great hotel when traveling for business. Clean and comfortable rooms. Check-in wasn't superb, but the room made up for it.

Very nice hotel in central location in Philly

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Central location.
Cons: Add some firm pillows, at least in the closet.
Location: Very close to Rittenhouse Square, shopping, and subway lines.
I stayed at the Sofitel in Philadelphia in mid-October for a "touristy weekend." The hotel was very nice - immaculately decorated and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was outstanding - smoked salmon is my weakness, and I had a lot of it! (It's not included in the price of the hotel, but it was only $20 extra.) The hotel was in a good location in Philadelphia, just a few blocks from the two subway lines (both the airport line, and the Market/Frankfort line). The only issue I had (just a personal preference, not really a big deal) was that the pillows were soft and mushy - there weren't any firm ones. I like firm pillows. Other than that, great hotel!

Great downtown location.

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Location within walking distance to many sites and lots of restaurants nearby.
Cons: Softer bed.
The hotel and staff were very good. Especially one of the ladies in the bar. Everyone we interacted with was excellent. Had great food wherever we travelled around the city, from the Mega slice down by the Ben Franklin's gravesite, to excellent Mexican food at El Rey. Also very good food right across the street at Square 1642. Had a very nice 2 days in Phili. Enjoyed the Art Museum, and of course the Liberty Bell. There happened to be a artisans guild in one of the park squares we spent a good part of the day checking out all their wares.

Great Location

Posted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was really good.
Cons: Hire a few more staff so phones can be answered and room service done properly. Also, let me have butter right away at breakfast!
Location: Central Philly location. Tons of great restaurants and bars nearby. Particularly love Vintage Wine bar a few blocks away and El Vez is always fun!
Hotel is located amidst good restaurants and lively nightlife. The driving/parking is very tight but everywhere in the city will be this way. Staff is eager to please and friendly. Possibly a bit understaffed since when calling down to the front desk the phone goes unanswered for long periods and on the three occasions we called we had to call multiple times to get someone on the phone. The room was large and tastefully decorated. When calling for late night room service and finally able to get someone on the phone, I was told it would be at least 40 minutes because it was only the person talking and one other manning the room service. I said that was fine but felt the staff was trying to convince me I didn't want room service as they asked a few times if I was sure I wanted to order (I was starving and really wanted to order!). When the food came, two items were missing but after the hassle of convincing the staff I wanted my original order I didn't feel like calling back to claim what I hadn't received.

We were in Philly to celebrate our wedding anniversary and told them at the front desk. They immediately upgraded our room to a Junior suite. Great view, quiet and elegant as usual. The Sofitel in Philadphia has always been our hotel of choice. Consistently excellent.
