Very convenient and reasonable

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The cost was reasonable in a city whose hotels can be pricey; close to the subway that took me to or near main sites in old city. Clean.
Cons: It can't really be improved by the folks at Conwell, but Temple and thus the hotel borders on a rougher part of Philadelphia.
Location: The hotel is in a rougher part of town, but very close to a subway station that can take you all over city. The Temple campus is nice, but be careful.
The Conwell Inn was a unique lodging experience in that it is located on the Temple U. campus. It has a very quaint, yet clean and well operated hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was quiet within the confines of the school. It is a very short walk to the Broad St. subway line going South to center city and connecting to West line going to old city.

Very convenient

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: My room gave me a nice view of the surroundings. It was in close proximity to everywhere I needed to get around on the Temple Univ campus.
Cons: Nothing stands out.
Location: The hotel was right by Liacouras Walk; lots of cafes and fast food franchises for meal options. It is near the subway on Broad Street.
I was in Philadelphia for a parent orientation for parents of incoming freshmen. The location was right on campus and made all the difference in the world! The staff was courteous and the environment was perfect; very quiet.

Nice little hotel on Temple University Campus

Posted May 27, 2014
Our stay was great. The price was inexpensive, and the area was quiet as we were there while school was out. That is, of course, a downside as many of the nearby bars and restaurants were closed or had shorter hours because of a lack of students. The staff was friendly when we checked in and checked out, but otherwise, they didn't say a word to us when we walked past -- which I found a little bit anti-social, seeing as how we were the only other people in the lobby most of the time. Other than that one small thing, however, our stay was fantastic.

need to be clean

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: able to control the temperature.
Cons: Please, make it clean
The room and bathroom were a kind of dirty. I am unsure if they cleaned the tub before I got in and changed the bed sheets.

Clean and affordable (Expedia deal). Nice staff.

Posted Mar 9, 2014
Pros: Price was great for a nice, clean room. Staff was very helpful about local food & subway, etc.
Cons: The bed was a tad soft for me, but that may be personal. The TV was large format but cable was not in HD, which was somewhat disappointing.
Location: Much of this part of Phily is run down, & local food is mainly bar food, mainly. But downtown is only 15 minutes by subway.
Got a great deal on Expedia, so it was much more affordable than the big center city hotels, and as nice a room. Everything was clean. Rooms are nice but basic--no fridge, no microwave (in my room), but had coffeemaker, iron, and hair dryer, if that is important to you. Location was good--right in the middle of Temple University campus. Safe parking $15/day--right next to the campus police station, about 20 yards from the front door of the hotel. Call for directions if you get lost, but google had it right for me. Temple campus could probably be loud, but I was there over spring break, so it was fine for me. Saxby's coffee adjoins; 7/11 next door. Maxi's bar had good cheese-steak.

An old hotel but no charm of old hotel, parking is tough, rooms are small. Fire alarm sounded for hours in morning they said not a problem. Fireplace in lobby not on on a cold winter days

Pros: big room, more like a mini suite. parking is convenient $15 in-out/ per day. nice and cozy.
Cons: inform customers how difficult to find the location. GPS could not find it. It's inside Temple Univ campus.
Location: Might be a bit unsafe at night, but campus police station is right next to it. Only went to Kimmel Center for performing arts for Philadelphia Orch.
