Hotel under construction.

Posted Jul 29, 2014
I'm sure the stay would've been better if the hotel wasn't under construction. But our air conditioner didn't work and nothing was done about it. House keeping never showed up during the 3 day stay either. Staff was nice but service was poor.

Dear Expedia.com Guest, Thank you for your comments. We do apologize for the construction taking place outside. It's the final phase of our renovation and should be completed shortly. In regards to the housekeeping issue you encountered I'll be sure to share that with the team. It is unacceptable and will be addressed. Thank you again. Regards,

Close to Historical Sites

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Location was good for sight seeing. And price was good. Staff at counter and restaurant were friendly.
Cons: Take care of all the problems in the room! Provide larger towels at pool area instead of hand-size ones!
Location: Close to Independence Hall, Betsy Ross House and many of the historical sites. Lots of restaurants nearby too.
The hotel lobby area was nice, but the room was just okay. There were 2 adults and 2 children in the room and every day just 2 towels were put in the bathroom so I had to call housekeeping every evening asking for additional towels. Also one of the beds smelled like pee and I had to call about that, although they changed the bedding it still had an odor. Also the air conditioning unit was extremely loud so made it difficult to sleep.

Dear Diane, Thank you for your comments. I'm sorry we did not meet your expectations. I was surprised to read that you only had 2 towels in your guestroom. All of our double queen bedded rooms are equipped with four towels each day and I am not sure why yours was not. I will definitely address this with the team. I only wish I was able to determine what guestroom you were in so that I could remove the mattress you were referring to. I will make the housekeepers aware so we can address it when they locate that particular bed. Thank you again. Regards,

Nice hotel for a walk to Independence Hall

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: The location, people, and amenities for the price.
Cons: My husband would have loved to have a hot tub at the end of our long drive.
Location: Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, National Constitution Center, Reading Terminal Market, Hard Rock Cafe, China Town
I booked this hotel because of the location and price. It is located a short walking distance from Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the National Constitution Center, and Reading Terminal Market. We had plenty to do without driving in an unfamiliar city. Always a good thing! Parking was plentiful in the hotel's garage and the fee was not bad; they just added it to our hotel bill at the end. Very convenient. The room was clean, the beds were nice, the housekeeper was friendly and did a great job for us. The pool was on the roof and had a great view! The pool seemed clean and was a good size for a stretching out and doing a few laps, or just playing with my kids. We liked that the hallways and pool area were patrolled by security people. Check in and out were easy because the front desk clerks were both friendly and knowledgeable about prices, policy, and the area. Very nice. There was construction taking place at the entrance of the hotel, but it was always clear which door we could use to go in or out, so it was not a hindrance or even a nuisance at all. You have good people there doing a good job. Keep it up!

Perfect location for sight seeing

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Great location. Very nice improvements to the lobby area. Pool is small but good enough for a dip.
Cons: Breakfast buffet is over priced. Food was mediocre and there were flies hovering over the food.
Location: Location is perfect for sight seeing...near independence hall, liberty bell, ben franklins tomb and museums.
Overall it was fine. The hotel checked us in earlier than expected, which was nice since we drove from NYC. It was nice to be able to take a dip in the pool. We got wi fi with our room (no extra charge). We went to Philly with our bicycles so it was nice of the hotel to accommodate us with a room to store them overnight for 2 nights. You can hear the bathroom flushing next door, not a biggie for us...AC is a little louder than normal but did not bother us since our AC in a NYC apt. is as loud...Overall, we got a good deal and in return we got it for a good price.

Location Unbeatable

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: So much - staff skills, service level. They don't even have milk for the lobby coffee. Renovations could be wrapped up.
Location: Liberty Bell, Penns Quarter, Philadelphia night life, Independence Hall, all the tourist sites really are just walking distance.
This hotel is located just blocks from the Liberty Bell & Independence Square, walking distance to Penns Landing and the nightlife. The roof top pool is excellent and has a great view of the 4th of July fireworks. Watching the fireworks while swimming in the pool is magnificent...on that 1 night a year. The rest of the time, this hotel leaves much to be desired. On-site parking is not included in the rate. The staff leaves much, much to be desired. And renovations which are expected to be completed in August 2014 may continue a bit longer. They don't even have milk for the lobby coffee. If you want luxury and comfort, go elsewhere. If you want bare-bones & cheap, go elsewhere. If you want a great location - this is the place.

Great location and good staff. Room was comfortable. If you want to see the Historic District this is one of the best options. Ben Franklin is buried in the cemetery behind the hotel. Be aware of the many homeless people in the area- no problem but they do come asking you for money and many were drunk.

Pros: modern look and comfortable beds
Cons: the tubs were stained
Location: The location in Old City was convenient for very tasty restaurant and fun things to do close by.
Hakim was very helpful and accommodating! The bell man (Thomas I think his name was) was also very friendly and helpful! The hotel had a modern look and had a very nice pool and decent fitness center. The rooms were very comfortable and modern appearance.

Nice Hotel under construction

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: The staff was so friendly.
Cons: The maid service replacing bottled water, bath matts, and the noise level of construction at 8:00 a.m.
Location: This hotel is in the heart of the historic district and near the Besty Ross House, The Libery Bell, Constitution Hall, and many more.
The hotel is rather nice however before eight a.m. eastern time they start construction outside your window. I feel they could wait until at least nine a.m. After flying in the day before from a different time zone and getting up rather early the construction wake up call was rather rude. The bottles of water were rather nice to find but not replaced on a consistent basis nor were the bath matts. The rest of the hotel was wonderful and the staff was above helpful in directions with maps and everything. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the beds slept well. The halls were quiet. You could see fireworks from the rooftop pool area.

Dear Expedia.com Guest, Thank you for your comments. I'm very sorry that the construction disrupted your rest. They are not supposed to begin work until 9am so I will definitely have a conversation with the foreman. Thanks for letting me know. The bottle water is a welcome amenity and is typically not replenished. The bath mats however should have been and I will be sure to address that with the housekeeping department. Thank you again and we look forward to your next visit. Regards,
