Suitable hotel, just outside of CBD (south-side).Posted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: The comfort of the beds & the cleanliness of the room (incl. bathroom). Good facilities in room. Secure basement car-park.
Cons: Getting the lift fixed, so that it was at least functional without the constant 'clunk-clunk' sound whilst moving between floors.
Location: The location suited us as it was not too far away from all the tourist places. Westfield Shopping Centre (Woden) is only a 5 minute walk away.
Only BAD experience, was the fact that our room (407) was somehow opened by someone after we arrived in the room. When we heard a sound at the door, we were astonished to actually see it open ajar, then immediately close again. Naturally, we investigated almost straight away, but found no one in the hallway. A short time after, I reported this incident to the front desk reception & was assured that the cleaning staff had gone home already. Although polite in trying to assure me that the matter would be referred to management, the receptionist did not show a slightest belief in this matter that greatly disturbed me and my family. Before we went out for the night to the local Westfield Shopping Centre, we decided to take with us ALL valuables in our small backpack. It is very clear that someone else must have been given an extra 'activated' key-card to our room by mistake. Absolutely poor security when such an occurrence leaves guests vulnerable to intrusion upon privacy and possible theft. Otherwise, our 2 night stay at this hotel was comfortable and affordable. Although not complaining about the very slow bumpy lift ride (reported in so many previous reviews over past 2 years), it is amazing that the sign displayed inside lift indicating that 'maintenance is currently being undertaken' shows that no progress has been made to rectify the faults. The discounted breakfast for hotel guests at Pillars Restaurant (Tradies Club), adjacent to hotel, was very appetising.

Nice HotelPosted Oct 4, 2014
Pros: Free carpark and room size
Cons: Free wifi and improve on breakfast variety.
Location: Located a short distance from Westfield. There isn't much to do around the area as it is located in a suburb, construction site on the next block.
we stayed 3 nights in this hotel, it suited us nicely, price was reasonable. Shopping Centre was a short walk away with some nice restaurants closeby. The room was nice and larger than some standard hotel rooms, sound proofing was good as our room was facing a major intersection, the traffic didn't really bother us too much because of this. Breakfast was average, but was nice enough. Overall we had a good stay, friendly staff and parking was included as well.

Good location for Canberra's tourist destinationsPosted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: The staff were very friendly, plenty of parking, great location size of room/bathroom.
Cons: Bathroom products/maintenance, kitchenware in the room.
Location: We went to Questacon, the dinosaur museum and the Royal Mint. All were really nearby which was exactly what we wanted.
Good location however the room was distinctly average. The lift was really slow and felt like it would break at any time (6 person limit!). The bathroom was not wonderful: the hairdryer fell off the wall and had to be refixed by us, the soap/shower gel/shampoo dispensers had maybe an inch of product in each of them which wasn't great for a party of four for a few nights (luckily we'd brought our own!). There is no dishwasher liquid provided and only cups/saucers/glasses despite the room having a fridge, a kettle and a toaster (a few small plates and cutlery other than teaspoons would have been great - again we'd brought our own). If you are a family staying there take your own breakfast cereals, milks and bowls/spoons. Breakfast for 4 would have cost us more than $50 per day. Tradies was OK but my medium steak was blue and my daughter's well done steak was so charcoal burned that it was inedible. On the plus side the two double bed room was sizeable enough for our needs and the bathroom was nice and large.

Spacious roomPosted Jul 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
After a long drive, it was nice to check in quickly to a spacious room. A very comfortable bed if I could find something not so great it would be that the pillow was too firm for me. Location suited our needs and was easy to find. Would stay here again.
