“High quality, friendly hotel”
We had the pleasure of staying here for 5 nights on our trip around asia having booked it last minute through expedia. It's one of the more expensive places, comparatively, in Phnom Penh to stay but you wont be disappointed. The staff are professional, friendly and efficient. Our room was of a high quality, extremely comfortable and of a large size overlooking the mekong and swimming pool. Breakfast was buffet style with every style of food you could wish for and a chef on hand to prepare fresh noodles or omelettes as desired. The pool area is lovely too with plenty of large parasols and loungers, for a more relaxing afternoon.
“A great place to stay”
Wonderful stay at Hotel Cambodiana. Could see the Mekong River from every vantage point in room. Staff was exceptionally friendly and eager to please. By staying on 5th floor, we got free drinks and snacks in late afternoon. Enough food to skip dinner! Would recommend this hotel for everyone.
“Right on the river”
This hotel is hard to beat for location and value. It is a little older than some of the new push of hotels coming into Phnom Penh, but still well maintained and classically elegant.
“Good Hotel with great location”
We paid the extra money to stay on the top floor (executive floor) and were pleased with the room, magnificent view of the Mekong River, and free snacks and drinks in the evening. Great location but service was average in the rest of the hotel.
“On the river, good location”
The Hotel Cambodiana is a good hotel in Phnom Pehn and right on the river. The rooms are good, but not great - very basic beds, etc.. For the money, it was spot on, especially if you get the "Mekong Club Floor" (5th floor). They have breakfast there in the mornings and a good amount of food. In the evenings, there is snacks/beverages and could even replace a light dinner.
“Away from the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh madness”
The Cambodiana has a mixture of business and leisure guests. Set in a developing area of Phnom Penh backing onto the Mekong and in a good position for the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda. Staff were attentive, even giving us a room upgrade on arrival. Pool area is great for a swim and sundowners. The bar a little cheezy with entertainers - even a Tom Jones lookalike, but the staff were welcoming and friendly!
“A pleasant hotel to stay while in Cambodia”
The staff makes the Hotel a special place to stay, they are always ready to help with a smile. The Hotel needs some improvements with the comfort, some rooms the beds are not in good shape. Thanks to the staff I manage to find a room with a good comfortable bed. The charges for internet connection and local calls are just too expensive, is better to try on the local internet coffee houses is 1/4 of the cost.
“I would give this hotel a 4 star”
Overall satisfied.
“rip off tuk tuk drivers outside”
Hotel is Ok..not the best of locations....so need transport...the tuk tuk drivers waiting outside ..are not to be trusted...the hotel drivers are very expensive...
“Not a five star hotel”
I booked this hotel as a treat to myself to celebrate the New Year. The rooms were clean and well maintained, but lacked the sparkle of a true five star hotel. No hair dryer in the bathroom, for example, and only the bare necessities in the room. The sitting chair, very uncomfortable for an average sized person, was another example. The dining room where breakfast was served had torn and worn upholstery on most of the chairs. Additionally, the food was passably good, but for a tropical country, there was only a very limited selection of fresh fruit. Again, for a five star hotel, there should not have been any flies in the eating area. The service was spotty. On some days, the wait staff was attentive and other days ignored us completely. One day, a wait person took away my uneaten food mistakenly. I actually chased her back to the kitchen to retrieve it. The elevator carpets were very dirty, and could have used a good wash. All in all, for a hotel that is advertised as one of the best in Cambodia, I felt it was not a good value for the money. All of the things I have mentioned would not have bothered me at all save for the fact that I had expected better from a top hotel. I have to add that the reception and other personnel were friendly and courteous. But this place is showing a lot of wear and tear. Better to save your money and book at a lesser place where one's expectations would not be so high.
