Not a good hotel

Posted Mar 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
The management of this hotel is very cheap. They try to cut cost by giving you 1/3 of tolet paper. They serve the same awful breakfast everyday. We booked this hotel for seven days and we regret we did. The previous hotel we stayed a week before has much better food and they has varieties of food everyday.

Terrible place to stay

Posted Mar 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
The word luxury is no where in the actual experience of this hotel. We booked a deluxe suite and was quite surprised at the condition of the room we got. There was a constant sewage-like odor that permeated the room constantly. The management is very cheap. They don't turn on the A/C in the main building so it is very stuffy and hot. The rooms are the same way. You have to put in your hotel card into an electric slot to turn on the lights and A/C. The last thing anyone wants coming back to the hotel after a long day in the city is a hot, uncomfortable room that takes an hour to cool down. This is NOT luxury standard. The towels and bedding are also very old and worn out - they look like they have never been replaced. The front desk staff is not exactly the friendliest. Overall, a very disappointlng stay at a hotel with a misleading name!

Hotel Luxury in Phnom Penh - No Customer Service

Posted Sep 11, 2011 on Hotels.com
The hotel is Chinese run and seemed to cater mostly to businessmen. The staff loved to promote the karaoke bar. There is also a spa on site. In general, my stay was "fine." I can't complain because I had a clean room with a safe, and hot water. Except, I can. The room I stayed in was right under a nightclub or something because I heard loud music playing through the ceiling until about midnight. The staff was inexperienced and in general, lacking in basic customer service. One of the staff told me that he would negotiate a rate for me for a tuk-tuk, but when I asked him to do so, he said that I would have to do it. Then he asked me whether I had a map, and I didn't have one, so he showed me a Tourist's Guide map. I asked if I could have it, but he said "No - this is for me." I asked him where I could get one, and he said "I don't know." I asked him how to walk to the National Palace and he said "You should take a tuk-tuk because you don't know where you are going." I told him I preferred to walk, but he still could not point the directions out to me on the map. Finally, I had postcards I wanted to mail out, with the correct postage on it already, and they refused to put it with their outgoing mail, telling me I had to go to the post office myself. While normally this would not bother me, these basic amenities are what makes for good basic service at a hotel. The lady who was in charge of the spa service was very pushy, but it might be because I visited during the off-season and there weren't that many tourists. Two excellent things about the hotel: The amazing Chinese buffet breakfast and the amazing massage I got. However, beyond that, don't count on the staff to help out with much.

not exactly as advertise but location is good

Posted Aug 31, 2011 on Hotels.com
rooms didn't look like the pictures. pictures look alot better. showers didn't work properly. the water barely came out. the room looked old. there were lots of ants in our room. the bed was hard as a rock. we decided to rent an extra room and the rate quoted was significantly higher than the ones we booked online. the elevator was small. when were on the elevator, there was a guy who was puffing on his cigarette and we were dying to get out. the staff was friendly though. location is convenient to various shops but somewhat difficult to find because it's hidden about two buildings on a oneway street.
