They gave my.room away and gave me a tiny dirty, smelly room without even hangers, tv remote control and hot water on the first day and said they have no other rooms.i had to sleep on some comforters on the floor! Had backaches after that first day and got back our room for the bext 2 nights. The staff are good especially rhe housekeeping staff who try to make amends and service recovery. Location is horrible! Right in the midst of wholesale qet market and junkyard car parts recycling areas all around ! Never stay here ever, please warn all your guests!!

My stay at Lucky Star 2 was perfect. I love how huge the room is and very clean. staffs are very nice and friendly. The hotel is very close to Olympia Mall. It's very easy for me to access the shopping mall, and it's in the middle of Phnom Penh City so to go anywhere is not too far to get there. Plus, Love the view from my window.

Avoid this disgusting hotel
The staff were extremely blunt and rude upon arrival, making us feel very unwelcome. There were literally hoards of chinese guests attending some sort of occasion in the function room next door, which meant crowds of them were congregating or simply wandering around in just about every area of the hotel, shouting and making alot of noise. They were also smoking in the hotel corridors and lifts, and throwing their cigarette ends on the hotel floor which remained there the following day. At one point they were staring and laughing at us for some bizarre reason and the hotel staff seemed to be joining in with them. There are absolutely no cameras in the hotel whatsoever apart from reception, and it has a very unsafe and seedy feel to it. The pillows had an obvious blood stain on them, and there were gecko droppings both in our room and all over the balcony floor. The room was a non smoking room yet smelled like an ashtray. The beds felt like sleeping on a flatbed truck they were that hard, and the aircon system was outdated and poorly unmaintained. The location is also terrible and very difficult for taxi/tuktuk drivers to access and manoeuvre around in at night time. One of the worst hotels and team of staff that ive come across in phnom penh for many years.

Worst hotel
The rooms were disgusting, there was mould in the bathroom, old rubbish from previous people who stayed, the beds were rock solid and the reception desk was no help at all. You ring them for a question and they hang up! We didn't even spend our full 10 days, we stayed 2 and found another hotel. Would definitely recommend avoiding this hotel.

We stay at the hote just for one night an it was enough. We wished never to be there again. Horrible neighborhood , service, smell and quality of the things in the room. The room was smelly, towels were old. No food available at the hotel or nearby. No friendly staff and in general every thing was bad. It was the worst hotel of our South East Adia trip.

The place was nothing like it was advertised and as for the area, well here is a list of problems that you might want to add to your website description: Rude staff Smelly room Infested room - ants/cockroaches/various other bugs Water went off Illegal substance deals down stairs in the lobby Illegal 'night walkers' in entrance/in the hotel Reception giving out private details to Tuk Tuk driver who dropped us off at the hotel but for the two mornings we were there he called our room asking if we wanted a lift!!! Not maintained room Dirty bed sheets Yelled at through our door by house keeping staff after an 8 hour journey on a bus, even though our do not disturb sign was on No where near any of the attractions in Phnom Penh like it is described on your website.

Good hotel for the price
The hotel was in China town, about 15 minutes tuk tuk drive from the centre, so fairly quiet location with a wonderful colourful fruit nightmarket underneath, which could not be heard from the rooms. There are a lot of weddings and receptions in the hotel, but again they did not interfere with a good nights sleep. Lots of cheap eating places across the main road. To be honest, Phnom Penh is still a growing city, it will be like KL or Singapore within 15/20 years, but now is a bustling, very busy, not very pretty city. 2 days there is sufficient to see the landmarks.

Spacious, low price, and wedding party
VERY GOOD. At my 3rd time in Phnom Penh, for one week, I stayed this hotel. Unexpectedly, as the other stayer mentioned, it is very spacious considering its low price. I stayed at 8th floor with a great view. Wifi is stable. A nice TV and international channels. Hot water works 80%-enough for me. Toilet paper is out of the bath room but important thing is its existence - perfect!

Economical Stayover
The hotel is good value for USD20+. A very spcious room - 30sqm! Like most Cambodian hotels, furnishings are wood based. Cleanliness is relatively good. We booked two rooms. And only complain is that the headboard in both rooms have ants! Caused a bit of discomfort! Very basic other facilities! Have just a small coffee and snack shop in the lobby. Internet in the room was not connectable. But overall no complains for the price and room space. Will consider returning.

Great 2 Star budget Hotel
We were greeted by a lovely young lady, Who gave us our key in one minute after showing her my Hotels.com confirmation number. We were on the 9th. floor. The elevator is fast. Bring your own soap the soap is only good for your hands and is poor quality. The towels are hard and thin. The pillows are small and thin. It's cheap and OK. The neighborhood has a good PHO Vietnamese restaurant just around the corner. Would I stay again? Yes, but I'm not excited about the room only the price.

Good value for money
16 nights, great value for money, ambience of a Chinese Government Office, unsophisticated but friendly staff, convenient in-house cafe with very reasonable prices ..especially compared to Riverside area of this city. Lobby and cafe WiFi adequate, but unable to get in-room connection during my entire stay and as I volunteer here annually/like to blog this is important to me ..my room being more comfortable than the lobby! I would definitely stay here again if the WiFi worked. I prefer to be away from tourist neighbourhood, so the location suits me well.

This hotel is in an ok part of town. It's nothing fancy, but it was clean, the staff was nice and the price was great. The frig in the room will freeze everything if you turn it down too low. I don't know that I'd take my family ther, but I would certainly stay there solo again.

Bed, bath, airconditioning and that's all you need
I enjoyed my stay at the Lucky Star 2 Hotel. It isn't the nicest or fanciest place you will stay in and the beds aren't the softest but if you are traveling in Cambodia I bet you are not there to hang out in your hotel all day. That being said it did everything I needed it to do and for a very great price! I just needed a bed to sleep in and shower to use at night while I was out during the day and it was perfect for what I was looking for. They cleaned the room everyday, and even have a slightly overpriced laundry service if you need that done. At the bottom of the hotel in the lobby is a Cafe to get food, smoothies, coffee and other beverages which is also a little overpriced compared to eating anywhere else in Cambodia, but for foreigners its a reasonable price. It's also very close to a Westernized grocery store (Lucky Market) that is in walking distance. So anything you need is right there.

Pretty alright hotel for anyone on a budget, however you end up paying more for transport then anything else because the location of the hotel isn't really where anything is happening a lot of the Tooktook drivers get confused with lucky star 1 and lucky star 2. The neighbourhood is straight up getto/slum, it was quite an experience. Not to mention the other guests that stayed there also seemed rather odd.

Excellent views, terrible maintenance and staff
The room I was in was on the 9th floor (the top floor of the hotel) and offered excellent views of the city. However, the maintenance of the room and hotel was not up to the mark. When asked for a plug adapter for my laptop, the reception staff rudely refused any assistance. Later I found the toilet overflowing, and discovered that the toilet was not vented in any way. At night I found ants crawling all over the apartment - including the beds for some reason - even though the linen appeared fresh and there was no food or debris. All in all, I would rate this as an unpleasant experience and would advise travelers to stay away from it if possible.

Unexpectedly Good Room/Value
First I would like to get the downside of the room I had out of the way. The fridge didn't work and the overbed lights didn't work. Also, hallway noise was easily heard through the door. All that being said, it still didn't make me unhappy with the room as it was a nice large and very bright room with a small balcony. Aircon worked, hot water and shower were excellent, although the hot water didn't last long enough for an extended shower, but was still "Pleasing". Location wasn't bad. Refreshments sold at lobby were cold and affordable. Will definitely put this hotel on the top of my list next time I stay in Phnom Penh. The cleaning staff did a good job. Was happy with my room for the whole 3 days and nights I was there.

The least expensive of our hotels in Cambodia
The least expensive of our hotels in Cambodia, but among the best. Rooms were a bit spartan, but that was expected. The only fault I might offer is that it's not on the river, and a bit far from things. That may be more than made up for by the low price, however. Friendly staff. I would stay here again.

Comfy and huge rooms
I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. I really enjoyed the panoramic view on all the city, the huge room, the comfy beds, the well furnised bathroom with a western shower, and the balcony. The food at the restaurant is also quite good and cheap. The district is not so touristic, so it's more authentic with a Cambodian spirit. I recommand this place!

dirty sheets, worthless staff
Pretty terible. Our sheets were stained and smelly, and when I went to check the mattress for bed bugs I found two pairs of ladies underwear under the mattress. It was clear the sheets weren't even changed. Though we requested a non smoking room it smelled like smoke all night from neighboring rooms. Very noisy as well. I also believe we may have mistakenly paid for a night in Lucky Star 2 but stayed in the original Lucky Star, which the worthless staff did nothing to rectify. Every question Iasked them they didn't know an answer, even as simple as where laundry can be done. Only redeeming factor is the proximity to a mall with a supermarket and good aircon. With the cheap hotels you can book nearby I'd recommend going elsewhere.

Large clean rooms
The location is not the greatest and the service is a bit lacking. The "business center" was a computer on a table and the internet was down the whole time we were there (while the front desk was using internet on their computer 5 feet away). If you just need a nice, big, comfortable and cheap room this certainly fits the bill. Far off the tourist path, definitely a more local vibe with a very busy produce and fish market surrounding it.

You get what you pay for...
Room hadn't been cleaned when I arrived so I had to go back down from the eighth floor to get another one. Room was basic but good enough for the money. It looked like it had never been cleaned properly but there were no bedbugs or cockroaches so I didn't let that worry me too much. I was woken at 5:30am by the television from another room echoing down the corridor and when I telephoned down to reception to ask if they could take care of it, they just put the phone down on me. I had asked for an alarm call as I had an early bus to catch, luckily I didn't need it because they didn't call me. Perhaps they thought that since I was already awake from the deafening volume of someone else's TV, that it wouldn't be needed... All in all, I was only there for one night so I didn't get too stressed about the hotel but I would have cancelled my booking if it were for a longer stay. One last thing, the hotel is miles from anything that you need so be prepared for lengthy and pricey tuk-tuk or motodop rides everytime you want to leave the hotel as this can son add up if you're not careful. In fact, once you factor this time and money into the overall price of the hotel, you have to ask whether it really is that cheap...

Old parking garage turned into hotel
This hotel is quite spacious and seemingly offers hundreds of rooms in a large, high-rise building. The rates were very reasonable and there was a security guard at all times on our floor of the hotel. The room itself was large and there was a shower stall in the bathroom. The television worked well and it was a safe place to stay. Nearby the hotel are various wedding halls with formally dressed Cambodian men and women, even in the mornings! This hotel is centrally located in Phnom Penh and there are always tuk-tuk drivers waiting outside the entrance of the hotel to take you wherever you wish to go. The pink toilet paper was pretty funny, but the restaurant in the morning was overpriced (by Cambodian standards) and not very good.
