“The best hotel in Cambodia”
The hotel was really great. If I ever go back to Cambodia I will definitely choose that hotel again.
“Stay at the Quay!”
Excellent hotel in an outstanding location. The staff were welcoming and very accommodating. The food at the restaurant was good. Room facilities were clean and very comfortable. Small room but was as advertised. I recommend getting an upper level room facing the river. The room was always quiet in spite of the traffic outside which was fascinating to watch. There is currently construction across from the hotel but only affects the lower floors view.
“Awesome boutique hotel”
This is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at, not only the room but the staff working there. Every person I interacted with was extremely helpful. My only complaint about the staff was that their recommendations for places to eat consisted of restaurants owned by the same company as owns the Quay. But they easily arranged everything and went out of their way to be nice I wish my apartment was as nice as the room. The breakfast that's included is great as well.
“Quay Hotel”
Great location, step out the door and you are met with a million dining and drinking options in a very lively waterfront area. Cab ride from airport was no longer than 15 minutes and cost $10 US. We were able to get a rickshaw driver to take us to the Killing Fields, well worth the 20 to 30 minute ride and a good opportunity to see the countryside. Staff was very friendly and even though I'm not sure as all the rooms looked the same they are said to have upgraded us when we arrived. Too bad they chose black carpet everywhere as it is virtually impossible to make it look clean but the hotel was nice, the room and bath large and the rooftop bar was lovely. Would def recommend! Note to self: Take US dollars! Had no idea this was the currency they used. We were even able to make a withdrawal in US dollars at the ATM which I was very surprised by. Island San Antonio, TX
“A perfect example of a boutique hotel.”
This 16-room hotel is located on the river, so the view from the front rooms is great. It is very modern in design, with sleek and comfortable furniture. A basket of fruit in the room was very much appreciated. The breakfast was made to order, with good choices of foods--either Western or local. We have recommended the hotel to our family and friends.
“An excellent place to be.”
Superbly located just off the river bank the hotel lies in the most active area of tourist town with all the facilities you could want within walking distance. Brilliant design and everything in the room of a high standard but lacking a work desk (in my room anyway). The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Very good English spoken. Breakfast was high quality and cooked to order in a surprisingly short time with plenty of choices. Great restaurant/bar layout in the hotel reception. A really terrific place to stay and I think very good value for money. Highly recommended.
“A great hotel in Phnom Penh”
This is a great boutique hotel in the centre of the action in Phnom Penh. It is right across the road from the river and within easy walking distance of all the main sights. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed and it is well worth spending the additional money for a room with a balcony that over looks the river. The staff are friendly and very helpful in arranging trips etc and the breakfasts are better than average. Phnom Penh's one and only resident elephant also passes the hotel most mornings.
“Hip, fun new hotel in Phnom Penh”
The Quay is great--especially if you like an urban, hip kind of feel to your hotel. I stayed for a few days in November of 2008, and the staff was young, eager, and extremely friendly. The bar is excellent, with a great variety of labels. Breakfast is included with the room rate, and the restaurant offers a number of Asian and more traditional Western selections. I stayed in the cheaper of the two room options--the room isn't all that big, and there was no window to the outside world. However, the bathroom was excellent, especially the spacious shower area. Only complaint: my laundry wasn't returned to me on the day it was supposed to be. So I had to sweat it out a bit the morning I was to depart for the airport. They got it to me at the last minute! All in all, the Quay is a fun, affordable, cool place to stay. It's near many great restaurants and attractions, including the Royal Palace. It hasn't been opened long, and will surely get even better with time. It's worth a look!
“well located, truly boutique, excellent breakfast”
Nice hotel, well located on the river front and a stone's throw away from places of interest. The rooms are contemporary and they serve an excellent breakfast. Staff are courteous. Some maintenance work is required for the cupboards and also if you are leaving early morning, the reliability of getting breakfast at 5am is not guaranteed, even though it is offered at that time. That was probably the only area of improvement, something that I can live with for a very nice hotel!
“Great location, good valute for money, staff could be a bit more efficient”
The Quay Boutique hotel is at a great location in Phnom Penh - right along the river, next to the bars and clubs and in general a tourist-friendly happening part of town. It is close to a number of restaurants. it is also a great value for money, for the budget traveler. One of the drawbacks we found was that not all the staff speaks English, and it can be a bit frustrating. Especially on the roof-top restaurant, if you are in a customer facing role, you are expected to know a bit of English, beyond the usual Hello and Good Evening. All the waiters there were woefully short of language skills, and especially traveling with kids, we found that a bit frustrating.
