Great Hotel, a Great Pool, and awesome locationPosted Mar 9, 2014
I really enjoyed my stay at the 3 Palms, the Staff(Robert/George) we're great and very attentive. The rooms were not the largest but very modern/updated, very glean, great bed, and a very large flat screen and a DVD player. They also have a great pool and hot tub. I recommend staying on the park side, it had views of a nice park but also views of Camelback Mountain too. More importantly, this location is great and 7 min max drive too Old a Town Scottsdale. I highly recommend this hotel and will be back on my next trio to Scottsdale.

Mini vacationPosted Mar 8, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness, look, location
Location: Well it's Phoenix, so plenty of things. Our spring training stadiums were both less than 10 minutes away. The Jornada Park adjacent looks beautiful.
The outside of the hotel is very clean and the lobby is modern and chic. The hotel staff are very professional; I happened to be in the lobby while the front desk attendant was on the phone with a rude customer complaining about the deposit that is required at the beginning of stay and is refunded upon checkout (in 5-10 business days, which is on the form you sign when you check in)...anyway the front desk attendant was courteous and polite constantly for a 30 minute phone conversation..I was impressed with her patience. Our thermostat shut off twice during the middle of the day and both times the front desk alerted maintenance immediately and it was fixed within minutes. The pool and spa are spacious and clean; there's plenty of seating and lounging areas. The fountain by the pool is relaxing and there was a myriad of birds that would stop by from the adjacent park. The room we stayed in was the king with the jet tub. The room was very clean and smelled great. I opted for the jet tub because I've never had one anywhere I've stayed. It was a good choice. The bath amenities smelled great and seemed of good quality. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were soft. There were both firm and softer pillows, 4 in all, the perfect amount. The TV was also a good size and I liked that there was HBO included, we watch a lot of that at home. Overall it was the best place we've stayed at in Phoenix, and one of the best anywhere. I really enjoyed our stay.

Took a $100 room deposit which after 3 days has not been refunded. Room A/C did not keep it comfortable nor was bed comfortable.

Quick Stay HotelPosted Mar 6, 2014
Pros: The check-in and check-out process was easy and quick. The girl at the desk was sweet. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The shower leaked and nothing could be done about it since the maintenance person is not always on-site. Kind of bothersome.
It felt like a motel trying really hard to be a boutique property. The layout (two floors adjacent to the parking lot and pool) screamed ex-motel, but the room itself was clean and neat. There was a dampness in the room, which seemed strange since it's 80 degrees and a dry climate, but it wasn't a straight-up problem.

Very Clean, Inexpensive, Safe, Close to ParkPosted Mar 6, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness
Location: Great for getting around!
The hotel (really motel as door opened to outside) was perfect for us as we were only in our room to sleep. It was clean, staff friendly. Robert at front desk great. Room was small, hot tub close to bed, told us it was upgrade.

Centrally located and convenient.Posted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: It was located in a pleasing location next to a park
Cons: The parking and proximity to our room was difficult. After the initial day we were able to locate the shortcuts.
While our visit was short, the hotel was in a convenient location and central to areas we frequented.

Better in the picturesPosted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: The beds were comfortable
Location: Fairly central to Scottsdale & Phoenix
Felt like a college fraternity meets a flop house. It appeared that there were actually some 'permanent' residents living in some of the rooms. A cheap place trying to look hip & expensive. Not enough towels.

Not here.Posted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: Everyone was very kind except the last lady when we checked out
Cons: Parking on the side of the hotel where the park is. I understand that there isn't much you can do about it but it sure would be nicer.
Location: Visit family
Everything was OK but when I got up at 6:00 I tried to turn on the shower and couldn't. Then my husband woke up and he tried and the same thing. We called and someone came right down and he was able to turn it on and said that it was broken and had to be replaced. My question is how did they clean the tube before we got there and if that wasn't cleaned then what else wasn't cleaned. When I went to the front desk to check out the lady there wouldn't give me a receipt or any idea how much the room had cost and she also didn't ask how the room was or how the stay was. The room was also very small.

The Last Time we'll stay at the 3 palmsPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: The environment. The Park across the street. it's centralize location to our needs.
We've stayed at the 3 palms maybe 4 times before this and we've always been pleased. At first glance it appears to be a Motel that they're trying to call a hotel. But upon closer inspection you find that it is a motel that's been CONVERTED into a HOTEL and decorated in fine taste and appointed rather well. Problem is it seems to be under new management now and they're cutting corners...We had a problem every day getting wash towels. They only gave us two bath drying towels and either 1 or none wash towels I had to call the desk. The room was very stuffy and the air conditioning only worked to cool not circulate the air and after 11:00PM it became none functional until morning around 8:00AM when it would suddenly come on...The desk clerk was nice and said she'd have maintenance check it out but I think she knew the system was on a schedule....So we had to leave our door cracked open over and over so we could breathe....The decor is starting to appear in need of a facelift but I doubt if it'll happen any time soon...We're looking else where on our next visit to Scottsdale.

No elevators!Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: The customer service and beautiful view of the pool area. The rooms were nice and great location.
Location: With a car - great. If you don't have a car, there were stores/shops across the street for any urgent needs.
I loved this hotel, but, had I known it had no elevators, I would have requested 1st floor. I had recently undergone some serious back surgery and the stairs were painful, if not harmful. The hotel DID find someone one get my luggage to and from my room so I am extremely grateful for that. Everyone friendly, pool view awesome, great location. It is obviously that customer service is very important, because I never felt "put out" with my requests.
