Ok hotel near shopping and parks

Posted Mar 20, 2015
Pros: Clean, close to parks and shopping
Cons: Pool Area, Our door didn't close all the way.
The hotel was clean but old. There is an empty lot to one side which makes it a bit scary. The pool is very small and the jacuzzi was ok. Unfortunately the beds were very uncomfortable. We were traveling with a 3 and a 6 year old so when we found River View park about 10 minutes from the Hotel we were very happy. This park is awesome with plenty to do: zip line , play grounds, splash pad, fountain. Overall the area was fine but if you can, you should upgrade.

Passing thru passably

Posted Mar 15, 2015
On the plus side the room was clean, as were the towels and bedding. Since we did not spend much time in the hotel it was all fine. On the other side the walls and ceiling were thin. The breakfast was disappointing in that the room was small and got crowded very quickly. Property could use an update.

pleasant experience

Posted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: Liked the walkout balcony from the room.
Cons: Breakfast area could be larger
we stayed for 8 days while on vacation. While the building is older, it has been kept up nicely, rooms renovated with new bathrooms, furniture and carpet. Very comfortable stay. Nice breakfast choices.

Pretty tired facility. I've also had much better breakfasts at other chains.

What we needed

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: It was convenient to what we needed.
Cons: It is an older hotel, but fine. The breakfast area is small but ok.
Location: Mesa is a nice town, plenty to see. Scottsdale is very close and beautiful, too.
Our flight arrived rather late at Gateway, and this hotel was not far away. We booked it online. We had a 2 day stop in Mesa to visit friends and relatives before heading down to Tucson to visit more relatives. We came back to this hotel before leaving AZ from Gateway again. The staff was very helpful.

Affordable Stay

Clean, affordable, but construction on street is a deterrent. Location makes it easy to get around, staff polite and helpful.

MANAGEMENT OF HOTEL SUCKS

Posted Feb 27, 2015
Pros: The bed
Cons: RETRAIN OR FIRE THE MANAGER OR FRONT DESK STAFF
Location: CONTSTRUCTION OUT FRONT MADE ACCESS DIFFICULT---BUT MANAGEMENT WANTED TO BLAME EVERYTHING on the construction but the MAIN PROBLEM WAS THEIR ATTITIDE!
We arrived and asked to have furniture repaired so dresser drawers would stay shut -they stuffed cardboard under the dressers. Every morning the Continental breakfast would run out of food and the juices were so watered down they were undrinkable. The management of this hotel could have made our stay so much better with very little extra cost just a little more effort and not been so chincey with their breakfast supplies. We will never stay at another Clarion Hotel again. The bed was excellent. The room was clean. Workers were pleasant. Internet was poor --Down during the day--worked in the middle of the night. Management needs to be trained in customer service. No on site restaurant as advertised.

Nice, Basic Motel

Posted Feb 18, 2015
Pros: Comfortable bed! Large bathroom. Parking near the room, likely true for most rooms. Hot tub was good and hot, and clean.
Cons: Desk clerk was less than motivated, although he did him job well. Breakfast closes too early - 9AM. Two waffle irons would be nice.
Location: A number of places to eat nearby, as well as stores. Fairly close to Superstition Hwy to get all around the area.
This is a good basic place to stay. Comfortable bed, clean room. Breakfast is reasonably nice, about the same as this cost motel. Decent neighborhood. TV are old school - non flat screen with poor quality picture/sound. Nice pool & hot tub. Must figure out your approach, as a light rail runs down Main Street. Good security. Room key was a bit wonky - took multiple times to work in room door.

Hotel Staff and room were fine. Breakfast area could use more space and tables were not cleaned after guests left and were dirty.

Cons: They could make sure that things were refilled for breakfast on busy days. I had to go and find some to fill the milk. He put out a few things.
Location: It was a go location for us this trip.
It was a nice place to stay. The breakfast was ok but the last day they were very slow on refilling things. We would go back again.
