pleasant place, quite clean

Pros: location is great, staff is mostly cooperative
Cons: room needs updating; plumbing, electrical appliances (room phone, alarm clock)
Location: close to the 101 freeway @ Shea, just right
mostly very pleasant, breakfast is fine, pools are nice, rooms are clean

The hotel decor was very dated. There were no hotel staff available when we needed assistance to check out. Now I can't get a receipt for my stay when I call the front desk because we booked through Expedia. Very displeased!!

I loved that the hotel was close to running trails

When we checked in the hotl smelled like cigars. When we asked the desk person he said, " Nooe, don't smell anything". Of course that was after we stood there forever waiting for someone to check us in. We knocked on doors and waited . He finally showed up and was not helpful in the least. He acted as if we had interrupted him. It was not a good sign. The other workers were very nice an helpful. Unfortunately the comforter had stains on it. This was disgusting. The breakfast was also not very good at all. I would not stay there again.

Pros: The pool, room cleanliness, comfortable beds, friendly staff, incredible value for the money, great location
Cons: Minor cosmetic things like updated fabrics
Location: Right off the 101, walking distance to a gas station, Mimi's Cafe, and Chick-Fil-A. Less than 5 minutes to Chipotle, Starbucks, lots of other stores
We stayed here for four days this past weekend (April 16th-20th) and were incredibly pleased with the value! The front desk staff was super helpful and when we needed anything (extra pillows, etc.) it was brought up almost immediately. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms (we had a suite with a kitchenette) were very clean. The pool area was beautiful and relaxing with plenty of beach chairs to lay out if you wished. There was also a small children's pool (about 1 ft deep) that my son very much enjoyed, and my husband loved the hot tub. Super close to everything (right off the 101 and walking distance to a gas station, Mimi's Cafe, and Chick-Fil-A). Some of the previous posters have mentioned that it needs updating and I was nervous that we would encounter peeling paint, rickety furniture, etc. I can assure you that the room we stayed in had NOTHING of the sort. Yes, it's obvious this hotel wasn't decorated last week, but it's still in great physical shape and the updating really seemed to be limited to cosmetic details like rug colors, etc. For the value of the room (priced considerably lower than other area hotels!!) we were very pleased. Definitely, definitely recommend, especially for families!
