4th of July Weekend

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: The layout was nice
Cons: The staff at the restaurants and if weather changes a planned event have another plan this is Arizona's rain season for goodness sakes 4th of july!
Location: Not much you’re on Scottsdale Road unless you want to take the kids shopping to an outside mall or an exotic car.
It started off great at check in they upgraded our room because we booked two adjoining rooms which they did not have they gave us a suite. Upon check in they gave us a lot of info but one thing they failed to mention was the kid meal pass which we found out about by accident a day later. The cost of meals I thought was outrageous I mean for a buffet per person $38 and that didn't include the drink!! Our bill came up to almost $200 for a buffet. We also noticed the two hostesses on call for the weekend stood at the door biting their nails I mean who wants to see that. The staffs at the grill were really not friendly at all except on guy really nice. The last day we had breakfast steak and eggs the steak was cold and the eggs were colder the home fries soggy the waitress was rude at best. Now for the big one the 4 diamond restaurant. The food was good but the staff I mean horrible it was like someone took their personalities away and manners. They reached over our food several times throughout the meal and were not apologetic about it at all. I would never eat there again the only two people on that staff that had a personality were the Wine Expert and the gentleman that brought out my Halibut.

Great 4th of July weekend experience.

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: We loved all of the fun 4th of July activities for kids! Super fun!
Cons: The outrageous cost of the food and drinks.
Location: Tons of restaurants, shopping, movie theaters, etc. all within a quick 5-10 minute drive. There really isn't anything you can walk to though.
We didn't realize that the type of room wasn't guaranteed when booking with Expedia so when we arrived they had the 4 of us staying in a King bed rollaway. That obviously wasn't going to work. They finally agreed to move us into a 2 double bed room (which is exactly what we booked through Expedia). The entertainment during the 4th was amazing - and so much fun! The only downside was we finally understood how the hotel could get away with charging so little for the rooms - their prices for food and drinks were crazy! Kids smoothies were $10 each. Alcoholic beverages were at least $12 and you couldn't get a salad for less than $18. And - they had security guards at each door that wouldn't let us bring in a cooler with food/beer. Oh well - we would still go back. :)

Beautiful resort!

We had a great time. After the fireworks on the 4th of July, we needed our Valet parked car and it took 1.5 hours to get it after we let them know. It was very hot and uncomfortable standing and waiting that long.

Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Room, activities, fireworks, musical concerts.
Location: Stayed at hotel most of time and only went to Totilla Flat for lunch one day.
Great family experience. Lots of activities and events. Staff couldn't do enough for you. My wife forgot her purse and their staff was very helpful in recovering it and sending it to us. Only ate at Ironwood American Kitchen which was excellent.

Short summer stay

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Location: There are shops and restaurants about 5 driving minutes from the property.
A great experience! The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was on the larger side, very comfortable and clean. The views were great-from the balcony of our room you could see desert wildlife every morning. The spa at the Fairmont is excellent. We also had a wonderful dinner at La Hacienda. I will definitely stay here again.

One of the finest hotels in the country

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Friendliness, facilities, ambiance
Location: Heart of N. Scottsdale
Hadn't been back to The Princess for a number of years and recently had a chance to stay. It's still the exceptional resort/hotel as I remembered it. Great staff, friendly and still a great pool area.

Great hotel in Scottsdale

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Stayed for four nights for a nice little vacation and wish I had stayed longer. The pools are all excellent and the staff are always around to take your order. The room was nice and clean. The spa was amazing and the workout classes were tons of fun! We rented a car and I am so happy we did...no matter where you stay in Scottsdale the transit isn't great and the main attractions aren't that close together so you really do need a car to get around. This hotel was in prime position not more than 10-15 minutes from anything!
