great resort
Posted Jan 17, 2013
Pros: location and facilities are top notch, and I'm very picky
Cons: the A/C
Location: location was close to everything you'd need while in Az, restaurants, shopping, etc
my only complaint was the heat in Az and my room wasn't able to cool down enough for my taste otherwise, the hotel was splendid. staff were all great and very helpful, rooms nicely configured with spectacular shower units and so many pools, next time I'm spending more time in the water

We had a couple issues with our room and the staff accomodated us quickly and kindly. Can't say enough about how wonderful the staff was everywhere we went. Clean and great fun for the family. Will definitely be back!

Family of 4
Posted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: Pool
Cons: double beds and resort fee
Location: nice location
A family of 4 sharing 2 standard double (not queen) beds was a bit uncomfortable. Room was OK sizewise, but not spacious as I would have expected. Pool area was great, kids and adults had fun! I don't understand the additional $25 "resort fee" tacked on when we checked out...this was not optional, so why not include it in the room rate? Overall a very nice stay

My first choice for a return trip
Posted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: I would gladly wake up to the view from that balcony each morning.
Cons: More a pet peeve with other guests: After leaving the pool, some people left towels wherever they felt like it, including in the elevator.
Location: On my first trip to Phoenix, I found the resort with ease. Getting out to see friends and the sights was easy, as well.
I arrived late, after an exhausting night of travel. The staff welcomed me warmly and put me in a corner room, where the bed was soothingly comfortable. I woke up the next morning to a breathtaking view of desert and mountains from my balcony, with the terrace court just below me. I allowed myself rare time to simply relax. Live music each night drew me down to the lobby. Not only would I recommend this Hyatt Regency, I'd return for another stay.

Pros: The pool area and buffet breakfast
Location: Just a few minutes away from Old Town Scottsdale
I love this hotel, it's great for everything! We had my sisters bachelorette party here and had such a great time at the pool and the rooms are cute and comfortable. The staff was great too, everyone was so helpful and never kept us waiting for anything

Beautiful Setting
Posted Jan 13, 2013
Hotel made the most of its Sonoran setting. Plenty of pool action for kids and a more restful pool for adults. Friendly staff and well maintained grounds with beautiful mountain views added to the quality of our stay.

Relaxing at Hyatt Gainey

Pros: Good amenities. Very helpful concierege desk. Close to things but the pool is a wonderful place to retreat to when activities are done.
Cons: Cut way back on the piped in music in pool area. Way too lound and not necessary as the fountains and birdcalls are lovely background sounds.
Location: Taliesin West, Desert Botanical Garden, lots of shopping, wonderful scenery.
Dependable, comfortable hotel. The pool area is spectacular. My room was quiet and looked out over a (low) rooftop cactus garden

Spring Break 2013
Posted Jan 22, 2013
Pros: Live music and the pool.
Cons: Small beds, resort fee, and limited "free" wifi access.
Location: The location is great. Great access to anywhere you want to go in Scottsdale.
The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The staff was awesome and very attentive. We brought our kids (2 boys 8 and 10) with us and they loved the pool and the grounds. There was plenty of space for two young boys to run around and play catch with a football. Overall, we had a great time and we really loved the live music, which takes place every evening. My only complaint is that the hotel charges a 25.00 resort fee per day, and the fees for movies and expanded wifi access were a little gauging. Movies are charged at 17.99 per movie and in order to get better wifi access you need to pay a minimum of 10.00 per day for the access. For what we paid to stay there, and the amount of money we spent on food and drinks, I think the better wifi access should be free and there shouldn't be an additional "resort fee." Charge more for the rooms if you need to. Oh, and one last thing: the beds could be larger for guests with children sharing a room. Our room was very nice and had a great deck area, however, the beds were only doubles. Queens would be expected at this price. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel. Rick

Beautiful and Relaxing Resort
Posted Jan 22, 2013
Fantastic Hotel! Recently updated children's area, well away from the adult side. Lobby is fantastic, far and away my favorite lobby so far - wide open to a beautiful lanscaped couryard. Breakfast outdoors can't be beat. The Southwestern Eggs Benedict is superb! We hope to come back some time with our kids. Maybe we'll get another peak at a Lamborghinni and Ferrari (Saw both parked during our 3 day stay).
