Very nice place, will definately stay there again the next time I'm in Phoenix. Very friendly staff, very clean, great continental breakfast. The only negative about this place was the pool was a bit on the cold side, other than that this place was very nice. Definately one of the nicer places I've stayed. The prices for the rooms was very reasonable too.

Everything in the hotel was great, the staff, the breakfast and the comfort in the room. We only had an issue with the bathroom but everything else was good. Nice hotel!!!!

“Just the thing”

We were in town for Spring Training baseball. We got what we bargained for -- a hotel with free breakfast, convenient to freeways and centrally located to all the major league ballparks. The front desk staff had good suggestions for restaurants and were generally accommodating. Hotel price was good for what was provided as well. We were pleasantly surprised when the room advertised as two double beds actually had two queens, and had a newer flat screen TV. Our room with the king bed had an older TV (not flat screen), but it was fine. The breakfast was fine -- but I would like to see it extended until 10:00 am on weekdays during the month of March, for Spring Training visitors. We were disappointed that the hotel picked up the food at 9:00 am as if the hotel were full of normal business travelers -- clearly not the case this time of year.

“good hotel for spring training”

Was looking for an inexpensive, convenient hotel to watch spring training baseball in Maryville. The hotel is about a five minute drive to the park the Milwaukee Brewers play at. The room was clean and the hotel staff friendly. They offer a breakfast that I would consider respectable for a hotel in this price range. The room came with a mini fridge and microwave as well. Would stay here again given the opportunity.

Due to mechanical issues with our rental car, it became necessary for us to spend another night in Phoenix. I promptly contacted the reservation desk at LaQuinta to see if we could reserve the room for another night. Unfortunately, that room had already been booked and there were no other regular rooms available with a king-size bed. I made arrangements over the phone to reserve a different room with two regular beds in it. Since it was still very early in the day, I inquired as to what time we would be allowed to check-in since regular check-in time is 3:00PM. I was told we could check in immediately; it was extremely hot and humid that day and we really had no where else to go to be inside where it was comfortable. Upon arrival back at the hotel, we approached the service desk to check in. The lady that I'd spoken to on the phone was there to greet us and she informed us that due to our "bad luck" the manager had authorized an upgrade to our room at absolutely no additional cost. My husband and I were extremely impressed and very pleasantly surprised with the way we were treated by the LaQuinta staff. A very special "Thank you" to all the staff at the McDowell Rd. La Quinta Inn!

“Spring Training Gem”

This hotel is about 2 miles from Maryvale Baseball Park. It's also close to I-10 and therefore allows for easy access to a number of other spring training parks and other parts of the Phoenix area. I never felt unsafe in the neighborhood and there were numerous places to eat nearby. I needed to do laundry while I was at the hotel and they provided me with free detergent to do so. I was not expecting that! I was a little disappointed with the quality of the wireless internet access at the hotel and ended up going to Target to get an ethernet cable for wired access and that was better. Overall, this hotel was great. I would definitely stay here again on my visits to the Phoenix area.
