Very disappointing

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: The AC worked well
Cons: Maintenance needs to be a priority, no one should pay the money they are asking for these rooms and have them be in such disrepair
Location: The hotel is across from the fountain and a strip mall with some shops
My husband and I were visiting family in the area and were staying here for one week. The outside of the hotel and the lobby were beautiful so imagine our disappointment when we got into our room, to find the carpet worn, the faucet in the shower leaking, the tiles on the bathroom floor loose to the point that when I stepped on them to get into the shower my foot was pinched between 2 tiles. Housekeeping left a lot to be desired when we would return to our room to find that the sink in the bathroom was not even wiped down as there was still toothpaste in the sink. We were also surprised to find on our 1st night that we were able to access the hotel thru one of the side entrances without using our room keys, even after letting the front desk know on our first day it was not until our last night there that we found the door locked, it was good to know they had finally fixed that but our keys would not work to open the door.

Cons: Clean or replace carpets. Add suitcase bench or something, hangers, ironing board or place to get one, etc. Needs some TLC
Location: Visiting relatives nearby so can't talk much about this...
Disappointing since it is no longer Holiday inn. Only 1 plastic drinking cup and carpets haven't looked cleaned in years....just not the same. No bench or place to put suitcase except on floor which was gross looking. One hanger, iron but no ironing board, just not great!

Terrible Room

Posted Apr 4, 2015
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything about the room could be improved. A new carpet, paint, drapes, and bathroom should be gutted and renewed.
We arrive at the hotel late at night. We went to the room to find it was terrible. The carpet was full of black spots, the drapes were extremely old, and the bathroom was bad. It was, apparently, a room for handicapped. I wouldn't put a dog in there. I can't imagine that anyone would feel comfortable in this room. We went to the front desk to request another room but they didn't seem to care and advised that it was the only room left.

The only thing I found bad is that since the hotel accepts dogs, that the couch wasn't properly cleaned and hair was all over it.

Quiet, comfortable, but needs updating.

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: It was close to the lake and it was very quiet. Easy to access WiFi.
Cons: I would like to see clean/newer carpeting, and something nicer for personal care items, since the rates are not in the 'budget motel' category.
Location: It is near downtown area, near the lake, and near other good choices for meals. Street construction was an eyesore, and a minimal inconvenience.
This place was pleasingly quiet. No loud water pipes, air conditioner was reasonably quiet, and I was never sure there were even others in the building! My bed was very comfortable, the room was roomy, and once I got the hang of the air conditioner the room temperature was perfect. The carpet was showing a lot of dirt and wear and the need for replacement, however it was vacuumed. There was only one bar of soap in the bathroom to share with the shower and sink needs, and 3 very small tubes of shampoo, conditioner and lotion. The restaurant breakfast waitress was rather lazy, however the food was good and prices fair. I would stay here again if I could get a good price. I just can't justify the $200+ except that it is in an area where people obviously have lots to spend.

The lobby area is nice may be getting upgraded? The pool area was very nice. The room itself seemed kinda run down and is due for a renovation

Good size rooms, near many restaurants....

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: Convenience and location close to restaurants.
Cons: Road construction which I know you have absolutely NO control over. Freshen up the pool area.
Location: We went to the Sports Bar and Sofrita's, both you can walk to. Our 2 favorite places are Que Bueno and the Saddle Bronc Grill.
First time to stay at this location in Fountain Hills, and on the whole it was a good visit. I was in the handicapped accessible room, so it was very large and convenient. We did not use housekeeping during our 7 day stay. The hotel was conveniently located and competitively priced..Some in the party who went to the pool area said it did not seem overly clean, there was a sign on the wall in the lobby that said "House Phone", but there was none there. What we noticed the most was the desk staff, while they never did not answer a question that we asked, they certainly could have said hello or acknowledged us with at least a smile. That was quite noticeable On checkout when I inquired if my points for the stay would be posted to my account for the Lexington Rewards, I was told, "Oh, you can do that online." If I am unable to do that, I will be contacting you. Would I stay again, yes! These are somewhat minor things that did not make our stay that terrible..

Nice front desk staff, the rest is forgettable.

Posted Mar 26, 2015
Pros: Front desk staff
Cons: Everything
Location: Across the street is plenty of places to eat/drink. Everything closes early so don't expect much nightlife. Fountain smells like sewage.
Front desk staff was friendly, it was downhill from there. Needs total remodel- bad carpet everywhere, wallpaper in bathroom peeling, black spots everywhere. Toilet took over 2 minutes to refill after flushing- when your travel partner uses the bathroom at 3 am that's a lot of noise. Impossible to shut the tub water all the way off- dripped all day and night...Wallpaper in room dirty, peeling. Workout room was a sauna even though the ac was on as cold as it would get. There was a loud low buzz all night long, by the third night I was used to it. Waited in the restuarant for a total of 12 minutes after I ordered my coffee and the lady never came back- only two other tables had customers, and there was a second waiter, so I'm guessing she decided to have a smoke break- I left and never came back again. I've been in worse hotels over the years, by day 4 there was a certain charm about the shape of the place- I'm sure a villa in Italy would have the same issues and it would be part of the mystic- a friendly staff goes a long way to make it a positive experience. Problem is I wasn't in Italy...... Won't be back here next year.
