Great hotel

Posted Mar 14, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel was just what we needed: a good rest and easy, fast access to airport. Only down side: Telephone service. Apparently an overseas operation service very difficult to navigate. Too many "press this or that" for services. We were tired, stressed and really needed a live person right away. Once at hotel all went well. Great receptionist and service all the way. A great relief!

Hole in the wall!

A horrible hotel that was dirty from lobby to the room. It had a vile stench and it was so gross that I slept in my clothes. Horrible experience!!!

Please accept our most sincere apologies for your recent experience. We strive for great service and accommodations and clearly did not meet expectations. We hope to get the opportunity to redeem ourselves in the future.

Saved the day(night)!

We were only there for 6 hours due to cancelled flight. Extremely easy to book at the last minute online. Bartender stayed to serve drinks for people checking in late from cancelled flight. All the staff was very pleasant- the shuttle driver and the 2 check-in people. Don't know about the neighborhood. Pricey, though.

Upscale hotel close to airport.

Pros: Bed comfort
Cons: Another bartender and/or wait staff. Ours was very overworked and it took a long time to get our drink & food orders.
Location: Near the airport
We booked last minute & staff was very accommodating. Bed and pillows are super comfortable. Breakfast is convenient but pricey. Bartender very polite and helpful. Regular hotel price is expensive, so be sure to book on a third party site such as Expedia for the best deals.

Great hotel!

Cons: The food was well prepared. However, the prices were a bit steep, even by hotel standards.
Location: I had guidance from a person who lives in the area. So I got to see a lot in the area that did not have to think about transportation.
From check-in to check-out this was a fabulous experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and provided a nice view of the city. The food provided at the hotel restaurant was well prepared and very tasty. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

Great location. Great stay.

We were two adults and two teenagers in a double room for 4 nights over Christmas. It spacious, clean and perfectly located - 2 min walk from Times Square where many tours depart from, and just a short walk to Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, Empire State Building. And because it’s on a side street with little traffic, it was very quiet! The hotel is new and in great condition. Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 for "Condition" is having to wait for elevators certain times of day. But if you're not in a hurry, it isn’t so big a deal and would not stop me from staying here next visit. All the housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the concierges (a man) was very informative and pleasant; two others (both women) were less pleasant and seemed bothered to have to help us. Had this not been the case, I would have given the hotel a 5 for the overall score. If you intend to visit the Empire State Building, I strongly recommend buying the tickets from the concierge and paying the extra $20 per ticket for Express access. We went on Christmas day and the lines were unbelievably long. With the express tickets they escorted us past everyone - both up and down - (which my daughters thought were the coolest part of our entire trip because they felt like celebrities as people when the usher yelled "Move aside please, coming through!"). This surely saved us 3-4 hours of standing in line to get to the top!

Just fine...

The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. The decor does seem outdated and I wish there had been a small refrigerator in the room.

enjoyed the hotel

Posted Nov 4, 2014 on Hotels
We really enjoyed our weekend at the hotel. One item was disturbing though. When we went to get out a blanket, we found an six-pack carton of empty beer bottles in the cabinet. Housekeeping should have made sure the blanket was clean and the trash removed from the room. We were surprised that this was overlooked.
