Surprise

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Everything.
Location: Everything was close. Restaurants, shopping, highways, terrific.
I had a one bedroom deluxe and what a surprise. Three rooms and a balcony. Coffee pot, not just single serve. Two TV's, etc., etc. I even liked the multiple messages from the staff telling me about various activities around the site. Very nice. I was there on business, but I would bring back my family. Thanks everyone.

Stayed at 1st floor and there was CONSTANT noise

Posted May 15, 2015
Hotel room ceiling is too noisy and the noise last all night. The hotel doesn't serve lunch and dinner. A beer costs $7 at poolside and that's self service too. Outdoor swimming pool doesn't open until 8am and that's very late consider sun rise at 5:30am.

Dear guest, We were sorry to hear that you were disappointed with several aspects of your stay with us. While I'm not sure where the noise you were describing stems from, I understand that this must have been a frustrating experience. I also see your point on having the pool open earlier in the summer, and we will discuss this in our next management meeting. While not a traditional dine-in restaurant, our Splash Poolside Grille is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as room service upon request. Warm regards, Michelle Sheraton Desert Oasis

Nice accomadations not very accomadating staff.

Posted Apr 28, 2015
Stayed 6 nights. After checking out, I discovered I left something very important in the room. The staff told me it had been cleaned and it was to late. I checked and I could see through the window it had not been cleaned. When I reported that to housekeeping. They sent someone to check the room and would not allow me to enter.

Second Time a Charm

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: The staff is great. From the front desk to the pool side, we experienced very friendly and helpful employees of the Desert Oasis.
The Sheraton Desert Oasis served as our home base for a destination wedding in No. Scottsdale. Our stay was just as memorable and enjoyable as our previous stay in 2012. The property is conveniently located to unique shopping and dining opportunities, and we particularly like the nearby walking and hiking trails.

Comfortable suites in good location

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: Clean up to date with nice pool area
Cons: If you have a room on the parking lot side there is noise each morning from the maintenance staff
Location: Phoenix is a driving city but there are good options for dining and shopping within 10 - 15 minutes. We really enjoyed the McDowell Sonoran Preserve
Nice one bedroom suites with decked out kitchen, very close to the 101 loop and many dining and shopping options within a 10 - 15 minute drive

Great family spot!

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Grounds very clean, great rooms, great staff.
Cons: Pool could use some sprucing up, but nothing else of note.
Location: Close to the free way which gets you access to everything Phoenix has to offer.
We had an excellent experience, and would definitely stay there again! Excellent facilities for families, and a wonderful site.

Staff was not friendly. Food at the pool grill was bad. There was no entertainment in a hotel. Overall the stay was boring. The pool was nice but that's were it ends.

Convenient and well maintained

Posted Jan 29, 2015
Pros: Staff service.
Cons: Lack of full restaurant.
Location: You cannot stay in Scottsdale without a car.
This was my first trip to Scottsdale and I'm not a great fan of the place due to the car culture, mostly one mall after another. However, if you are staying in Scottsdale, this was a well maintained and largely well designed facility with very very attentive, thoughtful and kind staff. The large pool was lovely, though at times they played music loudly, which I found unnecessary. The small pool was very quiet and lovely. Gardens are astonishing and they have a binder beside the tuck shop with encyclopedic detail about the plantings, which have won awards. Our first room on the main floor looked out over the parking lot. It was a standard room, very pleasant and well designed, but with only one real window off the living room and bedroom onto the patio. As a result, the room was dark even in the brightest daylight. This makes sense in a climate where the sun is to be avoided in summer, but as we were there seeking light, I found it quite unpleasant. When I requested a brighter room from staff, they went to every effort to find one, and so eight of our ten nights were on a south facing third floor room which was much brighter. The kitchen was great, as others have noted, the rooms were meticulously clean with lovely friendly cleaning staff. Food at the poolside cafe was just fine as other have noted, and again staff there were particularly service minded, friendly and kind. It's a mystery why they don't have a restaurant, but they don't.

Really nice hotel....close to Barrett Jackson Auto

Posted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: Ask for Phil or Megan at the front desk - very accommodating.
Cons: Need a hospitality suite where you can have a shower after checking out.
Location: Everything is nearby to this resort - Barrett Jackson Auto Auction, PGA tourney and the Super Bowl are all close by.
We booked this hotel to get to and from the BJA site, which was basically a $10 cab ride. The resort itself was outstanding! They have a secluded hot tub behind the pool waterfalls which is really nice.

Great north Scottsdale location

Posted Jan 9, 2015
In town to visit family. Needed accommodations for parents and a teenage son in North Scottsdale. Although a timeshare resort, we were quite pleased with the hotel. At check-in, we were told to speak to the concierge about some gifts and coupons. These were primarily for local restaurants etc., but also a soft sell to have us attend the timeshare marketing pitch. We opted out of all this. Very spacious suite/upstairs villa. Separate bedroom and balcony. Large living room with fold-out bed. Nice kitchen. New furniture and appliances. Very comfortable bed. Clean. Stocked with good coffee and creamers daily. We declined daily housekeeping service in return for guest points. But they brought clean towels and emptied trash anyway. TV in each room. DVD player and Bose radio/CD player as well. Decent bathroom with separate doors. Did not use the Jacuzzi in the bedroom. No room service, but there is a café/snackery on site, open 8AM-11PM. Great location close to highway but very quiet. Not much nearby, so you will need a car. Had some trouble finding a parking spot close to our room. Otherwise, great experience. Very good rates for the size and amenities of the room.
