“Great Hotel”

“In Transition”

Two Things: 1. Hotel is renovating and building a new fitness center. The result now is an air hammer noisily pounding away all day. For most everyone, this is an inconvenience. For those staying in rooms nearby the construction work, not nice at all. Also, when we stayed, certain hallways were blocked off. In our case, this necessitated walking across pool area to get to and from the lobby from our room. 2. We have stayed here several times. Previously, the front desk staff tended to be older and more experienced. This time, the staff generally was younger and less experienced, and it showed. I would still recommend this hotel, but for a time it looks like it may have some "bumps in the road". Great location and very nice lobby design/setup.

“Sheraton Tempe Airport Hotel”

We have stayed at this Sheraton for several years. Last year, we were impressed with the security measures, using your guest room door card in the elevators and at the back doors, to gain entrance within the hotel. This year, the elevator card reader was disabled and the parking lot/back door lock was broken. The rugs needs vacuuming and cleaning in the rooms and in the hallways. Housekeeping should check the hallways often, as dirty trays and dishes from room service are left outside the rooms for long periods of time. We will be looking for another hotel in the area for our next trip.

“Great Phoenix Airport Hotel”

We booked through Expedia and got a phenomenal rate. The hotel was well-located, the rooms were comfortable, the beds were terrific! The interior of the hotel was a fantastic oasis of pool/spa/fireplace setting amid sparkiing/twingling lights--very cool! The only thing I did not like was that there was this large stain on the rug in my room--did not fit the overal picture of perfecion by any means. But other than that, it really was great.

“No internet connection in room”

I couldn't get internet connection in my room even though someone from the front desk came to my room to try to solve the issue. I had to use my computer in the lobby. Not so much fun. And the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable with stiff blankets and pillows. The customer service was fine though. Check in and check out went quickly and smoothly. The bar area was really nice. Very friendly staff. Tried to be accomodating. But for a business traveler, I'd watch out.

Area recommendations

Scottsdale, downtown Phoenix and Tempe. These are metropolitan areas with restaurants, bars and shopping.

“good option”

Very satisfied with hotel, only downside was that it is in a location with no restaurants within walking distance. We had ate at the hotel which was very good. Near airport with free shuttle. Would recommend to others.

“EZ freeway access Close to Airport”

This hotel is perfect for that one or two night trip. It's close to the airport and has a shuttle service, it's also close to freeways(I-10) for easy access to surrounding areas. Main drawback is the business park area it's located in, as not much choice for restaurants or entertainment close by or within walking distance. If you have a car you can get to any place you want in just a few minutes, several restaurants on Broadway heading East, five or ten minutes by car. Otherwise the hotel shuttle will take you up to a few miles away. We saw the shuttle at 1AM picking up an elderly couple at a Denny"s 4 miles away from hotel. Now that's helpful!! Hotel is a bit dated, carpets are worn, but it's clean and the staff work hard to make your visit pleasant. Definite return trip in the near future. We didn't use the pool, but it looked very inviting, and many guests were using it by 9AM.
