Nice hotel. Not far from old town Scottsdale and the fashion square mall. We loved the Buffett, all you can eat crab and lobster!! The only downfall is that if you are from out of state and still have a vertical I.D get it changed before you visit. You will not be served alcohol !!!!

"Amazing grounds, but facilities need an upgrade"
Stayed for 4 nights. Amazing grounds, service is excellent. Golf looked great but didn't take part. Loved the vegetation and the walking trails on the property were wonderful. Food is good but not amazing. Overall I think this resort has all the potential to be amazing but they really need to pay attention to the small details and go over and above if they want to really be a 5-star. There have been some upgrades that you can see, but seemed like they cut corners and just did the basics. Casitas have dated bathrooms and shower heads that don't even stay up so you have to splash yourself with the water. The sliding doors in our unit didn't close properly (old and warped) and so we couldn't have the windows open. Our casita looked straight into a service room which wasn't private and no view - maybe not a big deal if our shutters had been able to actually close properly on the windows instead of a 3-inch gap. We had torrential rain and had to stay in and decided to watch a movie - then found they don't offer any kind of pay per view and you have to request a DVD player and a DVD from the concierge. It's 2015! Restaurant bathrooms are old metal doored stalls that you'd see in a cheap bar. The spa was beautiful but oddly they missed it on the details - cheap spa products, 80's hairdryers, etc. I was expecting it to be top-notch given you're paying Waldorf prices.

"Very good choice."
Super nice, clean and a quiet place. The pool is wonderful. We tried 2 of his 3 restaurant, the steakhouse was very good but the modern Hawaiian restaurant was not at the level of ours expectation. Not bad but normal.

"World class hotel"
We have stayed 5 nights at this very nice hotel. We had an infant with us and they were very accommodating. The rooms are more spacious than in any regular hotel, the grounds around the hotel are beautifully maintained and the pools are amazing. They have 3 pools, 2 for adults and one for kids. It's not crowded, it's quiet all day long and it's a pleasure to stay. They don't charge you for every single detail like Hilton does and it was a pleasure to stay. We'll definitely come back.

Best and Worst Times to Visit Phoenix

Phoenix is located in the desert, where you’ll find dry, desert heat all year round. If you’re in the mood for comfortable temperatures ranging between 70 and 80 degrees F, consider visiting from November to April. Often called the snowbird season, this time of year attracts vacationers looking to bask in the warm weather during the winter months. Due to the comfortable temperatures and increase in visitors, rates tend to be higher during these months.

Looking to turn up the heat? Visit between May and October. Summer temperatures spike to 100 degrees F, which can be borderline uncomfortable, unless you’re hanging around the pool. Toward the tail-end of the summer, monsoon season rolls in, which can bring moisture and humidity. If you don’t mind the scorching temperatures and a little rain, you’ll find cheaper rates during these months, especially from June to August.

    Things to Do

Get out and about and explore the scenery in Phoenix during your stay. Lace up your hiking boots and hit the Sunrise Trail at McDowell Mountains, or saunter around the cacti displays at the Desert Botanical Gardens. The Japanese Friendship Garden is another serene spot, while the Pueblo Grande Museum and Cultural Park offers insight into the ancient Hohokam culture.

During your stay, beat the heat and spend the day indoors exploring Phoenix’s many museums. Discover Native American artifacts at the Heard Museum, and check out the masterpieces by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera at the Phoenix Museum of Art. If your kids are vacationing with you, treat them to a day at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, or venture over to the Arizona Science Center, where they’ll love the hands-on exhibits and planetarium. After spending the day frolicking around the capital city, retreat to one of the best Phoenix resorts in town.
