“Hotel OK, surrounding area not so good”
Room was good except for a very dirty bathroom sink. Couldn't see how they missed it. Numerous shady characters on the street corners at the end of the block and at the next door Circle K. This area has really gone downhill since I last visited over ten years ago.
“Convenient to Freeways, ASU, Mall and South Mountain”
We arrived before Christmas and stayed for a week. It is an older hotel, however neat and clean. Towels were on the thin side. Pillows comfy. We were glad to have a suite as we had adequate space and our 3rd floor room had a lovely view of Camelback Mtn. It was very quiet until the sports teams descended on the hotel for Fiesta Bowl fun. They party until all hours. Breakfast was the same each day, cereal, bagels, eggs, sausage and waffles. Get there early if the teams are in town! It was easy to access the freeways in all directions. Adequate shopping and restauranats for all your various needs in all directions. Bring your hiking shoes, South Mountain is a wonderful, nearby outdoor respite.
“Only average for Marriott”
Since I knew nothing about the Phoenix area, I picked this hotel as I am always satisfied with Marriott facilities. This one is a little weary. the common areas have been updated and redone, but the rooms have not as of yet. The carpet in the hallways is ripped and dirty, and the carpet in the room was badly stained. The bathrooms are old. However, everything was clean, and service was pleasent and good and location convenient. If you are not looking for luxury, this is not a bad option.
“"Will stay again"”
We stayed nine nights at the Springhill Suites in Tempe. No problems were encountered. The front desk folks were friendly and helpful with their local knowledge. A printed list of recommended restaurants within a three mile radius of the hotel was available. We tried five of them and were well pleased. The free breakfast was satisfactory and we experienced no shortage of any item during our stay. Free coffee was available 24/7.
“Okay for the price”
Nice small suite. Small pool. OK breakfast, better than most continental breakfasts although not a full breakfast buffet. Biggest problem was that the room across from me had a barking dog. Hotel maintained it was a "service animal". Obviously dog was left unattended. I had to change rooms which was very inconvenient. Minimal help given moving and no offer of compensation for inconvenience.
“cheap room”
When we first arrived at the hotel, they had no rooms. We had booked the room four months in advance. They tried to find another hotel, but no luck. Finally they cleaned a room they had and we were able to stay in the motel and we were compensated for the first night of our stay. The motel has a nice breakfast and is fairly quiet.
“not bad on a budget”
We took advantage of a hotel special where we got the third night free. Otherwise, it would not have been worth it. The hotel is generally clean and comfortable enough, but also quite worn, especially the furniture and carpet. The hotel also only featured a bulky old-school tube television. Guest service was generally good until after we left. My wife left her phone charger in the hotel room and when I called to inquire about getting it back they cared not at all about helping us. I am still waiting to hear back from them (two weeks later) and ultimately had to buy a replacement. In summary, okay accommodations if you get a good deal and don't forget anything in the room.
“Good stay”
We stayed with my 2 years son and was comfortable. Clean and decent hotel, good breakfast, close to the zoo, even we were there just to sleep.
“Nice hotel blah food”
The hotel was very nice and the staff was excellent. The breakfst however left much to be desired. I would not eat there even though it is encluded in the cost of the room.
“Great Service”
Very impressed with the hotel staff. Great place for business or leisure travel. Would not hesitate to go back in the future.
