Great staff, amazing pool, clean and comfortable
Posted Jan 16, 2013
From the initial greeting by the staff to the seamless checkout - everything worked for us at this hotel. Loved the pool in the evening, the room was very nice and the bar was cool...the bar staff was a little off, but everyone else was worth recommending.

Great pool and fun bikes!
Posted Jan 11, 2013
Pros: The Pool and the bikes! So convenient and fun!!
Cons: The bathroom was a little small and the AC unit was very noisy.
Location: Great location if you want to be central in Old Town Scottsdale without paying big bucks
We went as a couple and stayed 4 nights. We went down to Scottsdale for some heat and to relax by a pool, do a bit of shopping and go to 2 ball games. This place was definitely perfect for us! I was a little nervous after reading several reviews from people that were not satisfied. The thing that pleased us the most was the pool - it had a great atmosphere (music and loungers), it was clean and the bar service was pretty good! Our room was clean but the downfalls of it were a very noisy, old AC unit (we both slept with ear plugs in) and the bathroom was a little small, but just fine for us. If you're wanting marble or granite and jack and jill sinks you will not be happy! The balcony's were also not functional, but this did not bother us since it was 109 everyday and when we were in our room we wanted to have the AC on. The bell boys were also very helpful and attentive, calling us cabs, golf carts and drivers whenever requested and giving us suggestions for great restaurants. The internet was fast and the cruiser bikes that are included in the hotel resort fee were also a big bonus for us, we biked to breakfast and lunch places and just around Old Town to explore. So fun! If you are a couple in your mid to late 20's looking for a cost effective, central, fun place to stay in Old Town The Saguaro is for you. We had a great time and would stay there again.

Terrific location.

Pros: Location and restaurant.
Cons: Preferred the clean, modern, b/w palette when it was The Mondrian--I get tired of the random island hot colors.
Location: Terrific--could walk everywhere.
The location was great and so was the very fine restaurant. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was just fine and clean but the overall condition of the campus-type layout is getting a little worn looking.

Okay for single people

It was okay. I did not like the rooms at all. The rooms were not comfortable. The restroom was ugly and could have been worked on a little more on remodeling. The outside was pleasant. But did not like the rooms at all!

Great for couples

This is a great hotel for couples. Been here before without my 7 year old....this time she came along. She loved the smaller pool, but this is clearly a non family resort.....but awesome for couples without kids!!

Good for young and young-at-heart.

We stayed on a weekend (Fri/Sat) and it was loud and active all night -- a party atmosphere. I had no problems with that, personally, but if you're looking for a spot to relax and sleep soundly all night, I wouldn't recommend it (at least on a weekend). I thought it was a great spot; the style and vibe is hip and refreshing. The restaurant, Distrito, serves delicious food from an Iron Chef (but is also very loud).

The Saguaro, Scottsdale, AZ

Pros: Location
Cons: Restautant
Location: In the center of Old Scottsdale Town
Everything is great about this hotel but two thing to watch out for. Fist they ding you with a Resort fee of 21$ US per night. Second, their restaurant is really expensive an noisy. Go to a nearby coffee shop for a quiet and healthy breakfast. Location is great. Dozens of restaurants within walking distance. The best place to be in the region
