“Westin K Scottsdale”
Great experience. In additon to the finest amenities, perhaps the most impressive thing to me was the "genuine friendliness and willingness to help" of the entire staff. Starting with the check-in to the Consierge to the rest of the staff, they made a person feel that YOU were the most important guest that day at their hotel. Highly recommend.
“Great week at the Westin Kierland”
Our family had a wonderful Thanksgiving week at the Westin Kierland. The staff was helpful, kind and wanted to help make our visit a trip to remember. We had great wait staff at the hotel restaurants, dinner at Deseo was fabulous, kids went to the Kid's Club pajama party and had a fun evening. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Pool wasn't too crowded for a fall holiday and our kids enjoyed the water slide and lazy river.
“Great Scottsdale Hotel for relaxing and golfing.”
This was our first visit to the Kierland Westin and we will be back! We have been to Scottsdale many times and this hotel was amazing with beautifully manicured grounds and a wonderful golf course. Because the hotel is located in North Scottsdale you feel like you are not in a bustling big city which is nice if you are trying to get away from it all. The rooms were great and the staff was always nice and friendly. The room rates are very fair for this quality level of a hotel. There is shopping and incredible restaurants within a short walking distance (1 Block) and you don't really need a car unless you want to explore Phoenix metroplex. The hotel has several very good restaurants as well that we ate at and loved. We also went to the spa and worked out in the health club facility. Both were top rate. If you are considering going to Scottsdale you will love this hotel.
“beautiful hotel”
Good and top of the line,
“DON'T TAKE THE TOUR OF THE VILLAS”
I liked the hotel so much that when the concierge asked me if I wanted to take a tour of the Villas, I said yes and asked how long it would be and they said 90 minutes. I even called again to make sure it was only 90 minutes. I was on a tight schedule to see my mother in the hospital and get to the airport that day. I arrived for the tour at 10:35 A.M. Colin had me get in a golf cart and take a ride to the Villas. They were nice and I was interested, but told them that I cant do anything with my CPA. After that Colin sent in George who was trying to put the hard close on me. I told George about the CPA, but he said I had to sign today or in person to get a great deal. After George finally got the message that I had to go. He brought me to another guy Chris who (I thought was going to take me back to the hotel) Chris then tried to get me to buy something else for $750. I told Chris that I had to go and told me that he would order me a golf cart. After a 10 minute wait and now it's 1:00pm. I had to walk a mile back to the main hotel. I felt like I was 21 and going on a time share tour at the Holiday in for free Sea world tickets, but this was the 4 star Westin and it was very surreal! The sad end of this story was that I got to spend 10 minutes at the hospital and missed my from 3:10 and had to take the 6:40 all out of being pressured to buy a package from the people at the Westin
“Looking forward to the next time”
I have always enjoyed staying at the Westin.....Looking forward to the next time I stay there.
“Alittle bit of Paradise”
Coming the cold rainy climate of Seattle, the Kierland Resort and Spa was a breath of fresh air. The lobby was beautiful and felt like home. The pools were also great. We really enjoyed the lazy river and the poolside service was perfection. You are walking distance from great shopping and there are lots of places to eat and drink . I can assure you, you will enjoy this hotel.
“nice facility - staff not very helpful”
This is a very nice hotel, but the reception staff are not very helpful. My husband and I arrived about 10pm at night and found one person at the reception desk. We were shocked when we went to our room. There was a little balcony that faced a solid wall about 20 feet away. Plus, the refrigerator was very noisy. We called the reception desk and asked for a different room. The receptionist told us that she was looking for another room for us, and that she would call us back. Fifteen minutes later, as she had not called us back. We went back to the reception desk with our luggage. The receptionist kept looking at her computer for another 10 minutes only to find the room right above our first room that faced a solid wall 20 feet away. When we said that we did not want a room that faced a solid wall, she kept on looking for another 10 minutes. I told her that we were willing to take a room with either a king or a two double beds and we were also willing to move sometime during our 4 night stay. Finally, she found another room for us that looked at an interior courtyard. It was not a great room, but at least we would not be looking at a solid wall twenty feet away. THE WHOLE TIME WE INTERACTED WITH HER, I FELT THAT SINCE WE HAD BOOKED THROUGH EXPEDIA, SHE WAS DETERMINED TO GIVE US A BAD ROOM. But, the fact is that a hotel at that price range SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY BAD ROOMS. Other problems: sink would back up, toilet handle would stick.
“Great spot for the family escape to the sun”
We have taken the family to the Kierland several times now and have had a great break each time. We hang by the pool, enjoy the lazy river and sip a cocktail. There is a nice high-end mall next door with several eating options and it's easily walkable. The food is fair, but we haven't tried the high-end restaurant. Hotel is clean and rooms are nice. I recommend the place for a nice family escape to the heat.
“Nice Hotel, Probably not 4 Star Though”
The hotel overall was very nice, but I wouldn't put it in the 4 Star Category. Adult pool very basic square pool. Adventure (or family) pool better. Not sure if it was the time of year or not, but many complaints about mosquitos. Never had an issue with them in Arizona before. Also, hotel is situated by the Scottsdale airport. A lot of small plane air traffic around. Again, acommodations were very nice but not resort category in my experience.
