Nice getaway

Pros: Everything was there good food , golfing , excellent staff very accomodating . Grounds were well kept , pool area was excellent always had ice water.
Cons: Maybe better yard markage on golf course .
Location: Good location , find Pheonix easy to get around.
Weather nice , resort was more than we expected , easy to get around , close to restaurants , shopping.

not friendly

Pros: Clean and roomy. Good TVs
Cons: Parking distance from room.
Location: Good for golf, shopping center type restaurants close by.
I guess because of the rate for a suite, or because it was booked thru Expedia, the attitude was a little cool. My room wasn't ready at noon so I went out to play golf. It was too hot so I quit after nine holes. It's now 3:00 pm and my room still isn't ready. They said the suite wasn't guaranteed until 4:00. Rooms are clean and spacious but are a little dated. Asked for a late check-out and was declined.(who didn't know that) Oh I almost forgot, the parking for my suite was about 100 yards from the front door.

Charming and Pretty Resort!

Pros: The hotel staff were super helpful and friendly, and we got checked in as soon as we arrived. Beautiful kept grounds.
Cons: We were quite disappointed in the old carpeting in our room and the really bad peeling paint out on our deck. Upgrades are definitely needed.
Location: It was about a 25 minute drive from the airport and also near plenty of shopping and restaurants.
This was our very first time in Phoenix for a concert so we decided to stay for a week after coming across the Wigwam resort online. It was super hot in August. We are from Canada and are not used to 40 weather so the Oasis pool was great to spend our time in. The air conditioning in our room was really awesome as well.

Staff at this hotel were very accommodating. Service at the bar was very slow. Room upon arrival was not ready. Had to wait until after 3pm.

Our experience

Pros: The room were large and I liked the kitchen area.
Cons: Updated internet capability.
Location: Poor restaurants in the area. We tried several times and was dissatisfied. We found better restaurants in Peoria and Scottsdale.
The hotel served its purposes for our trip which was for business. I would not select this hotel for a vacation. The swimming area was for more of the partier type versus relaxation. There really weren't any good restaurants close by and the main restaurant at the hotel was closed on the days we wanted to go. The only option was to order off of the bar menu. The lack of updated internet capability in the rooms impacted our stay as well.

The Wigwam is a great resort hotel

Pros: Everything. The food was fabulous, the resort was quiet, the staff was helpful.
Location: Don't go to Phoenix in the summer. Most, if not all, the museums are closed in the summer. I can stand 108 degrees in the daytime, but they can't.
I stayed at the Wigwam July 4 - 9, 2014. The staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. The resort has alot to offer the traveller, with 3 restaurants, 3 or 4 pools, and a day spa. Great experience. I had the best rack of lamb I've ever eaten at Litchfields. However, the resort is so big I kept getting lost.

So warm and welcoming

Pros: They give you rides to wherever you need to go, which is awesome in the AZ heat and when you have kids! We had a suite, which I highly recommend.
Cons: The restaurant choices; not a lot for casual family dining. The pool water could be colder!!! :-)
Location: Location is great!! There is plenty of golf, shopping, spa, bocce ball, tennis, volleyball, swimming, etc.
This was our 1st time there. Our experience was amazing! The staff was kind, helpful, and always willing to accommodate our needs! We felt like we were treated exceptionally well. I do think our experience in the Wigwam restaurant was not stellar though. We tried it twice. Service was incredibly slow and the food was so-so. However, at Red's Bar and Grill, after golfing we had a wonderful experience! Great food and great service!! The golfing is absolutely stunning too! The pools were great! So beautiful! We had exceptional service there as well. THANK YOU Kayla!!!! She was a Rock Star! We would definitely stay here again. The 4th of July activities were incredibly fun! My family and I had the best time together. Our room was huge and so "home-like" meaning there was plenty of room for everyone. :-) And for those of you that enjoy Gift Shops; their shop is small but has many wonderful things and the girls that work there are genuinely kind & helpful. I would give the Wigwam Resort an A

My second trip..Not as glamorous

Pros: I really love the golf courses because they are very well taken care of. Also, the grounds are beautiful and relaxing when not too crowded.
Cons: I think a crash course in customer service is much needed as I felt like I only got good service twice out of my entire trip.
Location: I didn't get any recommendations for dinner outside of the resort by anyone, even when they were all closed. Some restaurants across the street.
My first trip to the WigWam a year ago was magical...unfortunately that is where the good news for them ends this time. I booked with high expectations and felt cheated by treatment by staff and accommodations. When we first arrived, the room was awkwardly spacious for a king room and actually there were some questions for cleanliness. We were told we could go to the WigWam bar, sit anywhere and we'd be served. We waited for 15 to 20 minutes for a drink order, which didn't come for another 10 minutes. The food actually did not taste as good as I remember and the server was missing for most of our visit, as we only received one refill. We attempted to look past this and went to the pool, which was crowded with a lot of noise. In previous experience, it was more relaxing, quiet and calm. So, we wanted to take the high road and enjoy LItchfield's which online said it was open until 11 p.m. When I called to verify a reservation, the woman stated we close at 9 (it was 8:45 p.m.) and then hung up. I understand having a lot of phone calls, but a recommendation about where to go next would have been nice, or even an apology for any confusion. We played golf, which was actually really wonderful and I enjoy their golf courses. I am so disappointed in the treatment by staff and the cleanliness of our room. I would love to go back, but I don't think I can be set up for that disappointing of a trip again.
