Pros: staff was nice.
Cons: Airport shuttle pay TV in rooms to watch movies TV list in rooms shuttle going more than 3 miles.
Only 20 minutes from the airport, and yet NO airport shuttle. I was attending an event 4 miles from the hotel, and the shuttle only goes 3 miles. Paid a lot in taxi fares. Be aware of this...I had no option as this was the only hotel available at the time.

Our flight was cancelled so we stayed here on a whim. We thought it would be closer to downtown and have an airport shuttle, but it turns out they will just call a cab for you. Also the overall upkeep of the room was very poor. Could use new linens, carpet, etc. The bathroom had a sink with no vanity and a very cheap shower head. The restaurant was the nicest part of the hotel, but still not spectacular. Would not stay here again.

Very nice stay. Breakfast was excellent. Quiet and centrally located in Phoenix. The only problem we had was the key insert on the door worked about once every ten tries.

This hotel is located two blocks from the light rail which I rode to the Phoenix Art Museum, and to Mill Street on the Arizona State Univ campus in Tempe. It also gets you to Sky Harbor Airport. The nicest feature is the spacious gardens adjacent to the pool. Some of the restaurant seating is on the patio overlooking these gardens. The restaurant has good food, and the morning breakfast buffet is far better than most. The room was good sized and comfortable. With some refurbishing, especially in the halls, this hotel could be highly desirable instead of OK.

The lobby and room were nice, but wifi didn't work on our kindle, ipad or laptop the whole week we were there! Soooo inconvenient when trying to check work email.

Pros: I liked the restaurant, and the helpful staff.
I got our room on the internet for a very good price. That said, It became very affordable with free parking downtown, and a really good free breakfast. The restaurant is run by a different company than the hotel. We came in tired after working on my booth all day, and had a fantastic chicken pot pie and drink. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Our air conditioner was making a terrible noise one night, and they fixed it as soon as I told them about it. Even though it was not a perfect room, it was clean and we enjoyed our stay, due to the helpful staff.

Pros: As above.
Cons: Noticed some stained carpeting in elevator foyers.
Location: I attended a conference that was right in the hotel. Easy to walk to nearby locations for food, necessities.
Very comfortable room, furniture and bedding(loved the sleep number mattress!) Room very clean. Great amenities. I enjoyed the food in the restaurant. The complimentary breakfast was a real plus! A great way to start the day. I would definitely stay again.

Pros: The Garden area is very beautiful!
Cons: add a solar water heater to the pool! Add a fan only setting to the air units.
Location: We loved the location. It was far enough from traffic to be quiet and have plenty of parking, yet the light rail and many restaurants nearby.
We spent a week at the Wyndam Gardens midtown. We enjoyed the proximity to downtown, handy parking, lovely garden and pool area, healthy breakfast with lots of fruit and fresh cooked eggs. The staff was very helpful and available. We did not eat dinner at the restaurant because of lack of healthy food choices. The pool was very cold, a solar water heater would be a good investment. Bring a fan for white noise to run in the room because the air unit is loud and goes on and off all night long. Sure would have been happy to open a window!!!

while many of the hotel employees provided good service, there was great inconsistency in all employees. they seemed more concerned about doing their own job, but not helping to insure high customer satisfaction. "that's not my job or department, I'll try to find somebody to take care of that" which usually resulted in no one taking care of the issue. The front desk staff in particular was often rude and uncooperative, "these are the rules and I have to follow them or I will lose my job" as the face of the hotel to guests, they should be taught better guest relations etiquette. Carpets are dirty, electronic doors did not work, public garbage cans left overflowing, roof bathrooms locked, too few breakfast service attendants for the overflow crowd. I have stayed at many Wyndhams before, this was by far the worst!!

The staff were rude. The hotel was looking old. The pool area was inadequate...not enough chairs or spots to sit in the sun. The pool was dirty and so were the towels. Some of the chairs were broken as well.
