Great location and nice food

Low season is the best time to go, you get 100% attention from staff, they are very polite and helpful, room was beautiful, free shuttle is available to Kamala and Patong (3 times a day).

Great Location, lovely views.

Posted May 12, 2014
Pros: The location, the views, the pool.
Cons: More comfortable beds.
Location: It was a 2 minute walk to the Beach, and about 15 minutes walk into Kamala Beach. Lots of great restaurants at Kamala. They also had a shuttle there.
Nice infinity pool, easy walk to Kamala Beach where there are great shops (especially if you want Tailors), and lots of great restaurants right on the beach at Kamala. We were upgraded to a sea view room as our room wasn't ready on arrival, and this was a great bonus, tremendous views! Great free shuttle into Patong Beach. Breakfast buffet was OK... lots of food choices. And the gym at the hotel was good. It was a steep walk up to our room with a view, but we are very active so this wasn't a problem, they did have golf carts to take others up. All and all it was good, the staff were very nice and helpful. The only downside was the bed wasn't very comfortable.

Great location and gracious staff

Posted Apr 23, 2014
Pros: Location. Easy and free shuttle access to nearby beaches. Easy access from hotel staff to arranging tours to Phang Nga Bay and other islands.
Location: Patong (We could only last 2 hours at night. If you're in your twenties you might like it better). Tours to other islands. Easy access to airport.
My wife and I were looking for a place near the beach and close enough to where our daughter lives in Kathu, without staying in Patong. We took a chance, after internet research, on Aquamarine and were pleasantly surprised with our choice. The resort was a quiet respite from the tourist activity in the area. The beautiful view from the 3rd floor balcony overlooking Kamala beach, the lovely pools, and easy access to the other nearby beaches were a real draw. But what was most impressive was the graciousness of our hosts. The hotel staff was most helpful, always smiling at us and accommodating. After helping me with some technical questions I had with my tablet, I tried to tip the front desk staff whereupon he refused to accept it, stating "It is my job to help the quests". We all loved this place!

A beautifully positioned hotel

Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: The position was ideal. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly and the local shuttle bus very handy. 3 pools and 3 happy hours!
Location: Ideally positioned, over looking the ocean. Short walk to Kamala Beach and shops. Shuttle bus to Kamala and Patong.
A wonderful experience! A beautiful hotel away from the hustle and bustle and just a short walk to Kamala Beach and shops.

Great view but beach very disappointing

Posted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: The view, the staff, the tranquility of the villa
Cons: Tour group policy, the food
Location: Cheap massage on the "beach" and a simple but good "beach" restaurant. Otherwise, jump in a taxi for everything
We were surprised by the busloads of tour groups arriving at all hours of the day and night, often apparently only staying one night. This put great pressure on the breakfast buffet and the tour visitors had different ideas of cleanliness- one lady instructing her son to urinate in the swimming pool, when he was standing poolside about 10 yards from a toilet and another who thought it a good idea to wash his sandals in the pool. The villa was quiet and the view over the sea was great, but when the tide was out there was a gauntlet of sand and then rocks in the sea as far as the eye could see. The staff was lovely but the food mediocre. A trip to the nearest town-Patong (Hell on earth) took between 20 minutes and 60 minutes by taxi, dependent on the traffic. We will not be returning to this area again and it is a mystery why the Hyatt and Novotel have built huge hotels nearby.

Beautiful Hotel

Posted Jan 30, 2014
Pros: The pools were great and buffet breakfast was decent. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful.
Location: They have a shuttle that will take you to the Kamala beach or Patong Beach and pick you you. There isn't much around the hotel.

Great Hotel

Posted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: The staff are its greateast asset - friendly, always smiling and ready to help with anything you may need.
Cons: The lighting in the bathroom could be improved - more lighting in there or brighter globes.
Location: 10 minute walk to the main beach, restaurants/cafes/bars and local shopping.
The hotel was very good overall - clean and comfortable room although the bathroom is a little dark. Location was good - its a 10 min walk to the main beach for swimming, the local restaurants / cafes / bars and the main road if you want to get some good street food. Buffet breakfast was good - although its the same every day - with a possible slight variation betweek chicken sausage or pork sausage. However the grounds are lovely and it has 3 pools although could do with more loungers. Overall a very good hotel and one i would recommend.

Pros: The view, as well as the overall room style
Cons: Killing the bugs on the toilet.
Location: Kamala beach is very close and a shuttle is offered a few times throughout the day both to Kamala and Patong.
Our short stay was very nice and relaxing. Although it seems 10-20 years old it has been very well maintained and the quality is much better than comparable newer resorts. The view from our villa was amazing and the balcony was very relaxing. The only issue we had was a few small bugs that were crawling on the toilet. Its close to Kamala and a shuttle is offered, but it is also just far enough to feel like you are nowhere near to anything else. Perfect for a few nights of peace and relaxing, but still a (very) short drive from Patong or Kamala.

Need a revamp

Amazing service, but this hotel is old and need a revamp. The ceramics in the shower, needs a good cleaning too dirty for a 4 star hotel.
