Resort not close to beachPosted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Service was very friendly and when we had the dinner in a restaurant food was very good. Also good to have separate swimming pool for children.
Cons: The room was often not cleaned before afternoon.
Location: Really not much to do nearby except try the restaurants and also we have massages several times. If you want more to do, you have travel to Patong.
The resort was spread in a large area, very green and lush. First night we had to spend on third floor, room was very spacious. Next day we moved to first floor as climbing up the stairs was too difficult so this was more suitable for us. This room was also large enough and close to swimming pool. Azure restaurant was also close so if we did want to walk all the way to other restaurant for breakfast it was more practical. Also, sometimes when it was raining or were too tired to walk to room, it was no problem the staff to drive us. Also the last day when we were leaving, they picked us and our luggage to reception.

ElectrifyingPosted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Tropical pool was nice, location.
Cons: The wiring in the steam room, before some one gets killed, better communication, Screening of Security officers , just a little creepy.
Location: Karon is an excellent town, plenty to do, good shopping [ don't forget to barter ] lot's of nice places to eat.
All potential guest should be told about the noise the emanates from the pool area with the children's slide, perhaps they should be offered to families only. Near Electrocution in steam room during massages was unexpected surprise, no medical attention offered or incident form filled out, just two jars of cream & a sorry. Staff need a better command of English especially when dealing with security.Charged for using mini bar when it was emptied at our request at the start of holiday ???? found out other people had the same incident on the flight back home, made to fill out docket stating nothing was removed from mini bar ????.

DisappointedPosted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: The lobby area
When I arrived at the airport, I knew immediately that Karon Beach was far out. When I arrived at the hotel, by first sight, I figured I would like it. But after my check in, and getting into my room, I thought otherwise. When I got the Ocean view suite, I guess I was under the impression that there would be a view of the ocean.. Silly me!! I got to view ugly buildings all day long. The walk to the very small, and not so lovely beach was strange, and smelly (walking through the alley way). And to top it off, in two nights, I did not get even one hot, or even warm shower (I tried night, and early morning)!! When it came time to checkout, the lady automatically assumed that I had used something from the mini bar, which I hadn't. I corrected her, before she charged me almost 200Baht for something, not sure what it was. She had me write "I DID NOT USE ANYTHING FROM THE MINI BAR" on some mini bar receipt. Needless to say, I won't be staying at Karon Beach anymore.

Great hotel with very friendly staff.Posted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: Heaps of options on where to swim, good food and friendly staff.
Cons: Buy a couple of more CD's for around the pool. You could almost set your watch by what song would come on!
Location: All amenities really close to hotel.
There with 8yr old daughter and we all had a great time.

Lovely hotel, great for familiesPosted Jul 13, 2014
I stayed at Centara for 10 nights with my 9 year old daughter in a tropical room. Loved that there were 3 pools, we alternated between the kids pool with 2 slides and heaps of kids that my daughter made friends with. My daughter did get sick while in Thailand so when she was not feeling great or I needed time out from all the children we would hang in the tropical pool. We had one of the better type of rooms and from what other guest were saying it was well worth the extra money. Our room was large it did take till late afternoon to get the room cleaned some days, but if you rang they came straight around. Close walk to beach, Restaurants and massages etc. Great location would definitely stay at Centara with my daughter again however if you don't have kids and don't like having a lot of kids around in the pool maybe not for you.

AMAZING hotelPosted Jul 1, 2014
This hotel was awesome! Pools were amazing, two restaurants to choose from for Brekky, staff were so helpful and friendly. We stayed in the tropicale room, ground floor. Was so nice and you walked straight to the pool. Hotel is in a fab location to shops, small supermarket and restaurants. Short tuktuk to Patong for 400THB. Hotel is perfect for kids. The pool caters for small babies to older kids. Has 2 hydro slides. My 2 year old went down too! Has a kids club with activities planned allday. You can leave you children. It also has a massive playground that's undercover. In the resort they have something on each night like pool parties for families and Thai dance nights. So cheap too! Lagoon and tropical rooms are the best location I think if your looking and can't decide! Overall we would DEFINITLY come back. This resort was superb!! Loved it:-)

Busy hotel in the heart of KaronPosted Jun 19, 2014
The hotel was very busy, full of kids and families. Pool areas had very poor terrible service; I was asked to put an umbrella up myself because the hotel staff were 'too busy' when they were in fact doing nothing. We also asked for a particular flavor ice cream to be told they only have 1 flavor. Moments latter another person walked over and was told many flavors were available at the other bar; but you had to go and get it yourself, they were again 'too busy'. The staff really let down this great family resort. Location was good, heaps of restaurants and shopping at your doorstep and some colorful nightlife too! Beach is a short walk and was wonderful. Hotel prices were good and rooms were well appointed, large and comfortable.
