nice and quiet hotel with excellent staff.

Posted Oct 17, 2014
Pros: Staff, pools and location
Cons: More variety of restaurants. Better TV in room.
Location: Easy walk to Karon beach and shops, Dino Golf and Kata beach.
Excellent stay with the best staff you could hope for. Very clean room and grounds and located an easy walk to the beach but away from the noise. Would stay again!

lovely relaxing resort

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: friendly service from staff. great food with lots of different options each day. fabulous pools and great day spa.
Cons: beds are very hard and they don't have any extra padding available to make them more comfortable. They provided an extra blanket on request
Location: walking distance to beach shops and restaurants. free tuk tuk service up hill if you are too tired to walk.
We had a superior room with pool view which included a 4 poster bed. Room was spotlessly clean there are no lifts so be prepared for steps we were on the 3rd floor so became fit during our stay. Pools are beautiful with plenty of quiet spots to swim and sit. Excellent poolside bar service and great club sandwiches. Restaurant buffet was excellent different themes each night great singers and music. We tried a couples spa package which was perfect, there is also pool side massage available.

Incredible

Posted Oct 15, 2014
I stayed at this hotel in october. Few points: 1. Staff: excellent. They will help and guide you for any of your needs. 2. Location: perfect. Away from the loud Patong (where the night action is) but no problem, as they provide free shuttle to it. Close to the beach (5 min walking or 2 min via free tuk tuk). Beach is incredible. The Andaman see...no words to decribe it. Just perfect. Close to shops, massages (they have their own spa but prices are abut higher), restaurants (10-15 min walk) 3. Room: the hotel upgraded my room to the privilage room. This provided access to the club's pool and lounge. 4. Weather. October is perfect to go. Prices are half the ones in the high season. Rain...only 1 day out of 8 for me. Yes...1 day was cloudy also. :) . Still 30 degrees celsius. :) In other words, this is a must go hotel, either alone, couple or familiy.

Nice hotel

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Staying in the private area. No children so much quieter.
Cons: If you do not have an all inclusive package the breakfast is expensive at 595 per person.
Location: There was a great tailor,New Thomas, very friendly and professional.Great bars and restaurants along the beach front (turn left at the bottom of road)
Had a great stay. As a couple on a breakaway holiday it was great to stay on the private end which was quiet. We needed to take a taxi for most day excursions i.e big Buddha, 3d museum etc. the night market over the weekend was well worth the visit if you are looking for handbags and tshirts. You can work your negotiating skills here. Would stay at Horizon again.

Nice family resort for relaxation

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Green surrounding, swimming pools.
Cons: Front desk / Reception staffs service quality should be improved to let the guests feel more welcomed and better attended to.
The resort scenery is very soothing with a lot of greens and landscape. There are 2 nice big pools and 1 kids pool, which are nice and not crowded, but no life guards and also no service to pump the floats. The kids club staffs are very friendly but the space get a bit limited when there are more than 5 kids inside. There are different daily activity that you can drop of your child which include lunch for 390 baht. Room is adequate & clean with common facilities and no funny smell. Bathtub design is bad as it collect plenty water at side every time after shower and the water drip down to the floor. The breakfast spread are good and as expected almost the same dishes everyday. Our stay include complimentary dinner buffet with different theme each night, which is very convenient for us with young kids.. The dinner are delicious, live band is good, restaurant staffs are very nice too. The resort is at Karon beach is perfect for a not so busy location yet not too far away from shops & eatery. We use the resort complimentary TukTuk to go down to the beach /street. Food prices at eatery along Karon/Kata beach is not much cheaper than hotel though. It took about 1 to 1 1/2 hour travel between airport and the resort depending on traffic condition. Other than the long travel time to/from airport, generally is a wonderful resort for a simple and relaxing getaway holidays.

Location: There are plenty of markets and bars and shopping 5 mins walk. the beach is just down the road. they have free tuk tuks to take you to the beach.
We only stayed for 2 nights but enjoyed our stay. You couldn't do better for the rate which included buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. I would stay at Horizons again.

Close to beach but great pool in child-free wing.

Posted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: Surroundings, the breakfasts, the lovely staff, the lovely guests and THE POOL!!!
Cons: Like a lot of Thai people they don't like saying 'no' to guests. If there's a problem don't always take 'yes' all alright, get details to make sure.
Location: Karon Beach is close to everything, 15 min tuk-tuk to Patong, or free shuttle service to Patong Horizon. K Beach is more picturesque than Patong.
Spent most of the time at the pool in the privilege wing where no children allowed. Great staff, reception staff not quite as friendly as the rest but still helpful. Great tuk-tuk service so you don't have to walk up the hill. It's close to restaurants and shops, taxi rank and to where tuk-tuks can be hailed. We were upgraded to child-free area as we were not able to specify in the Expedia booking, so be careful. Family is the Horizon wing and the child-free is the Privilege wing. The restaurant is the place where everyone meets. Landscaping is amazing!! Aesthetically very pleasing. A lot of effort put into pool surroundings, walkways and gardens. The views are great and a very relaxing experience was had by all.
