We had a lovely stay at Kantary Bay Hotel, largely because of the amazing staff who are absolutely outstanding. They genuinely appear to enjoy their work, each other's company and interacting with guests. There were hand shakes and hugs all round when we left and we saw this with many other guests. The area is beautiful and largely free from booming disco beats at night, the food options outside the hotel were reasonable for such a quiet area and the massage options were incredible and very cheap! Having said how much we enjoyed it, the hotel has obvious limits and is very much 4 Star rather than 5. If this matters to you, you might look at the partner hotel on the other side of the steep hill. What is missing from 5 star service is a hotel bar, pool service, and a place where you can be sure of an evening meal in the hotel if you want a quiet night (without booking a day ahead you can't access the Italian restaurant) and a better variety of food at breakfast. The coffee is truly awful and that does matter to us on a holiday. We ended up missing breakfast on many days and walking down to the 7-Eleven where the coffee is really very good and very cheap! I hesitate to share any negatives because it was a lovely stay with a staff who genuinely care. The room was great, the sunsets were amazing, the mangoes were unbelievably gorgeous - the quiet road outside the hotel transforms at night into a market with 20 traders. Amazing place. Recommended.

A couple of hickups experienced during check-in were resolved quickly by the hotel manager and his friendly staff. Spacious, clean rooms with mostly beautiful views of the bay. Access to the sister hotel an interesting perk. Property is close to good restaurants. A late afternoon/evening street market was an additional highlight.

Wonderful views and location
Hotel is very spread out so a lot of walking and steps are involved. Restaurant and bar inside the hotel ate only open in the evening. Coffee shop is a must, great coffee, ice cream and cakes. Breakfast is good, apart from the coffee which is very ordinary...why not supply the excellent coffee from the coffee shop?

Amazing 2nd stay
My 2nd stay here in two years. The view of the sea from my room is spectacular. I checked in 3 hours earlier than anticipated and my room was ready. Not only was my mom ready but I was upgraded to a two bedroom suite. The staff here is the friendliest and most helpful I have seen anywhere in the world. Breakfast here is also the best buffet I have seen anywhere. I look forward to my 3rd stay.

Someone said it was like coming back to comfortable slippers and that's right - a place you can come back to and feel so comfortable straight away and totally relax. Kantary Bay is a stylish tropical hotel where you can have a relaxing seaside holiday in a charming resort hotel lounging by the two pools, swim at the private beach nearby, relax in comfortable rooms, walk in colourful gardens with fountains, sit on the wrought iron patio furniture in the pergola with hanging flowering vines, cool off in the reading room with freshly baked cookies and enjoy free wifi throughout the hotel. Cape Panwa is a laid back precinct where you can enjoy walks on the pier, go for icecream/coffe, dine in indian and thai restaurants, have clothes made at the tailors, relax with massages. It's away from the noise and hubbub of Phuket City. You can go in the hotel bus to Old Phuket Town or Central Mall for shopping and more markets if needed.

Exceptional Staff
The staff here make every guest feel special with their warm welcome and it keeps getting better while there. More apartment style with kitchen, dining, living and bedroom. The bed was so, so comfortable as were the pillows which isn’t always the case in Thailand. More like a friendly guest house than a hotel. Wonderful.

The service at the property is always fantastic. The staff are welcoming and greet you with enthusiasm throughout the day. The rooftop pool is great and it is a real bonus being able to enjoy the facilities at Cape Panwa Hotel such as the beach and the bigger gym. Always great and we will be back again.

Decent hotel. Breakfast buffet was good. AC in the rooms were ok. Other hotels/resorts in Phuket I stayed were superior. Power went out during part of our stay and property didn't seem to have back up power. AC didn't come back on until late that night (7+hrs). Happened on the day we were attending a wedding. Prep for wedding was miserable. Was drenched in sweat by time we left for the wedding. Not sure if I'd stay at this property again or refer.

Staff is excellent. Beautiful lobby, nice facilities at the neighboring Cape Panwa Hotel to use, good Thai food along the road close to hotel. Staff is the best part of this hotel. Good breakfast with lots of variety. People here work very hard to make people’s stay special. Most rooms (not ours, sadly) have a sea view. Good value. Taxi fares in Phuket are outrageously high, so it is expensive to go places and explore. This is not the hotel’s fault of course, but it is something to take into consideration when planning. We were very satisfied.

Perfect weekend
Excellent service, but not the pushy type.Hotel is only 30 rooms so you dont see too many people, amazing views and very quiet area.Lot of stairs though, not child easy

VERY GOOD STAFF SERVICE BUT LACKS THE GOOD BITS. NO SERVICE AROUND THE POOL FOR DRINKS/MEAL SERVICE. ESSENTIAL IF YOU HAVE TWO POOLS IF YOU WANT A DRINK YOU HAVE TO CATCH THE BUS TO CAPE PANWA HOTEL. WE HAVE STAYED AT CAPE PANWA BEFORE AND THEY CONTINUALLY CAME AROUND TO SEE IF YOU NEEDED ANYTHING.NO PLASTIC GLASSES TO USE AROUND THE POOL AREA..CHARGED FOR GLASSES WE BROKE IN OUR ROOM..HARD TO GET AROUND HOTEL IF YOU CAN'T WALK VERY WELL AS HEAPS OF STAIRS TO NEGOTIATE. .SOME LIFTS. .GARDENS AMAZING. BREAKFAST WAS THE SAME EVERYDAY,.HAVING COME FROM ANOTHER RESORT, WE FOUND THIS ANNOYING AS YOU GET SICK OF THE SAME THING.BACON WAS THE SAME ,POTATOES WERE THE SAME, .

You may have missed the phone at our rooftop pool from where you can order a drink. We will look into making the sign more prominent and we thank you for your input. It is our company policy to charge for breakages and I am sure that, on reflection, you will see that this is quite reasonable. There are indeed many flights of stairs but the lift will take you from Reception to all but the top floor. We offer a range of dishes at breakfast so that guests can vary their own choices day by day or stick to a classic full English Breakfast if they desire. Despite your doubts, we are grateful for your evaluation and your tribute to our Grounds Crew for maintaining our beautiful gardens. Avoid this hotel
This hotel is very run down. Staff unhelpful. I broke accidentally broke 3 glasses and the reception staff threaten me that if I did not pay they would charge the housemaid. Very unprofessional. Service was terrible. There was a please ring for service sign at pool but no bell or phone. We had free drink vouchers and every time we went to use them they gave us an excuse as to why we could not. Breakfast was terrible. Afternoon reception staff rude. Morning staff lovely. We were there for a family wedding. There were 4 family’s with our group and we were in 4 different parts of the hotel despite our requests to be close together. No lift in our block has to walk to the top storey with no air con and were sweating by the time you got to the room. Room was clean and tidy housemaids did a really good job. Avoid this hotel if at all possible. Having stayed in Phuket 9 times this was the worst hotel yet. Definitely not 4 stars the best things was the view from my room.

We have read your comments carefully and I agree that it is quite natural to express some anger as a result of disappointment. However, I think that your choice of the word ‘threaten’ is possibly inappropriate here. I understand that there had been a certain amount of, shall we say, celebrating and I suspect that our afternoon Reception staff were simply attempting to explain our company policy. 40 Baht per glass does not seem excessive. We are sorry that the phone from the pool was out of service at the time you were with us. The drinks vouchers that you received were valid for the Dolphin Bar and Otter’s Bar at our sister property only. Our Reception team would have informed you of that and the information is also printed on the voucher. Regarding the location of your accommodation, since you booked on three different platforms and we received no formal request for you to be together, our staff were not aware that you were a joint party. Our sincere apologies if that fact added to your disappointment. Your room 207 is in the two-storey block of our property and you are quite right that there is no lift at that location. If that caused problems to any of you and you had asked from our Reception someone would have been happy to assist you in any way. No elevators until 3rd floor. Difficult to get around with bags. Saw one guest with disabled partner trying to move her around in a wheelchair with great difficulty. Property needs substantial renovation.

Amazing service and attention to details
The only hotel we’ve returned again and again. Same goes with many other 10-30 times returning guests. Speaks for itself. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing stay, this is good. Party-goers, nope.
