A great place to stayPosted Mar 23, 2013
Pros: the friendly staff
Cons: the little step in the bathroom kept stubbing our toes
Location: set right on the beach perfect place to stay
what a great place to stay, the staff were wonderful always helpful, friendly, could not ask for better. To be able to lay back and relax in the sun within a couple of steps from the pool or the beach was sensational, To be able to sit and have a meal or a cool drink while looking at the beautiful sunsets was so relaxing, we felt like millonaires.

Great pools, spa & staff desolate locationPosted Mar 23, 2013
Pros: Pool access. The pool at the Villas also. The spa was great too.
Cons: Frogs and insects. And the food.
Location: You have to take a cab everywhere but the cab service was excellent, cheap, honest and always available.
The staff was so nice. The pool access rooms were so much fun and being able to use the Villas pool was a plus. The spa was great too. The food, like most of Thailand was really low quality. The rooms need a bit of love. Even a fresh coat of paint. The beds are REALLY hard. I mean like a board with a sheet on it. All this said, we loved staying here because of the pools. They picked us up and drove us around and took us to our next destination. Everyone's English was pretty good and they had staff that spoke all languages.

Great relaxing holidayPosted Mar 3, 2013
Pros: The friendliness of the staff. The location.
Cons: The hardness of the bed.
Location: Set on the beach about 15 mins from Khao Lak town.
Enjoyed13 nights at the Apsaras Beach Resort. On arrival we were told that the pool access room we had booked was not available until the next day so we were put into a villa. The villas are new. Having moved in we decided that we would like to stay in the villa Luckily we were able to arrange that. The private pool was a real bonus for a quiet early morning dip before breakfast and for cooling down at the end of the day. The only negative comments would be that the bed was very hard and that the pool needs a handrail of sorts to make getting in and out a bit safer. The restaurant at the villa side offered a good buffet breakfast with pleasant staff, in particular Mind and Porn. We also ate there some evenings and the food was superbly cooked. We only ate twice at the main hotel, once at the Zeus beach bar which was a lovely location in the evening but the food a bit disappointing .The hotel is located a bit from town, but heck, if you travel all the way to Thailand enjoy a short car journey. Located on a beautiful beach in a peaceful location it was what we were looking for. On the beach is Memories Bar, which offers reasonably priced meals and good massages. . Overall we found all the staff very helpful and welcoming, including Kat (guest relations), Mali (on reception) and Rabi (events). The sous chefs also made the experiences of fruit carving and Thai cooking lessons most enjoyable. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and one that we may well look to repeat next year.

Great Holiday at a pleasant hotelPosted Feb 16, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff, clean pools, right on the beach.
Cons: Mattresses in the rooms where to hard even for my taste, price and quality of the food and drink at the Zues bar
Location: ideal for people who dont mind being out of the way, and enjoy idealic beach front quietness. great for families
The hotel in itself is a little to far out of the way for our liking (500 baht return trip by taxi to town) but the rooms where well kept, cleaned and tidied everyday although there where no "special touches" that Thailand hotels are famous for, especially as this hotel is rated 4 star. the grounds where a little under kept but overall i personally had no problems with it, The main problem with the hotel was the price slow service and average quality of the food in the Zues beach bar and restaurant, fortunately 300m down the beach is an excellent and very reasonable priced bar called Memories... in fact this bar is a must if you are staying in the area. other than that we had a very pleasant stay, have met some wonderful people and come away with some great memories.

Apsaras Resort, Khao LakPosted Apr 7, 2012 on Hotels.com
Very nice place, staff extremely friendly and very nice facilities (3 swimming pools, private beach pretty clean, 2 restaurants, ...). Close to main departures to Similan and Payang islands. We spent a very good time in this hotel and we would not hesitate to come again for next time. Cons: Room amenities not really made for children, Extra bed very expensive (additional charge of 80% from the room price!!!) and no bath. Air conditioning very loudly. One of our main interest for this hotel was the kid's club. We were there outside school holidays and for this reason the kid's club was close, however the staff were present, but just for having a nap in the game room!!! We were very disappointed in that.
