I absolutely DO NOT recommend patronizing this place given their horrible management and the predatory experienced I had. I fell ill and could not travel to Thailand. I notified them of the cancellation, circumstances and provided documentation from my physician. Expedia tried to assist numerous times as well. Despite all this they decided to keep the entire amount for my stay (about 3k!) ignoring their own stated policy. It appears they value money for no service provided above respecting their patrons. I will never stay here or recommend anyone to stay here in the future. Book at your own risk.

This place is very unique and traditional in its appearance, while still having the amenities of a modern resort. It’s beautiful, the staff are amazing, the food is delicious, and there are a number of different places right up the road to eat, drink, or shop.

Everything was great!! We love this hotel, except the bath tube of ours is next to the tree… the bath was filled with leaves and branches…a bit less luxury than what we expected of the room. But other than that the food, staff, service, and place are great!!

This is an absolutely beautiful place and the villas are very well-suited for the surroundings. You will have a serene, private, and relaxing vacation here. The beach is gorgeous and fun but it is not really a good kids beach. If you want local interaction, there's some of that in the vicinity (along with lower prices for drinks and meals). It is far from most of the touristy things in Phuket so if you're coming for that, it's not your place.

Absolutely stunning, lush grounds. You feel far from the rest of the world, yet are proximal to some nearby stores, restaurants, etc (not that you have to leave the property, as there are multiple restaurants with flavors from various global regions...nor do you ever really want to leave your villa!) Not a single detail is missed within the villas, from the lighting to the beautiful wooden built-ins to the private pool. It is truly exquisite. The team is on top of everything: the front desk with checking in, the concierge for booking excursions, the breakfast staff assuring your mimosa flutes are full and you feel at right home. Speaking of breakfast, it was THE absolute best we’ve had at any hotel/resort stay. Totally over the top in terms of selection, yet utterly laid back in terms of your ability to lounge there for a lovely brunch hour (or two!) The staff are among the warmest of all of the Anantara Mai Khao team, and always make sure to chat and teach you local lingo. The main hotel pool is very beautiful, and although we came during high season, the layout allows for privacy and space. The poolside Infinity Bar keeps the spirits flowing, and provided some of our favorite meals of the trip (Short rib burger and Caesar salad - sounds basic but it’s super yummy!) My only qualm about this property is the sea on which it sits. I wondered prior to coming why no one was ever on the beach in the hotel photos. Upon arrival, we found that the sea water has a rather foul smell.

Lovely to look at but stuck in the middle of nowhere is what I would say! If you just want to unwind in luxury for a few days it’s great. But it’s built on a lagoon so beware of the mozzies.

"Wow" experience
A beautiful and exciting property with awesome private pool villas, and an otherwordly vibe due to the winding lagoon, quiet boardwalks, landscaping and nighttime illumination. The staff are also incredibly welcoming, kind, enthusiastic and helpful - it seemed they would do anything to ensure our optimal experience. Not too far from the Phuket airport, making it convenient for arrival / departure, but you feel nowhere near an airport or the usual bustle of Phuket. It is on a very quiet and peaceful stretch of Mai Khao beach - walk on the beach for 5 minutes and you can have a portion all to yourself. I would gladly return anytime and will highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Phuket.

This Resort is amazing because you have the privacy of your own little villa w/ a pool and lounge area. Getting back and forth was a breeze with the available bikes or cart service. Hands down the best resort I’ve ever stayed in.

A very unique experience resort. The best resort I have ever been to. I highly recommend it to anyone who seeks luxury at its peak, the staff are friendly and fluent in English, amenities are on point, the villas are breathtaking. A variety of great restaurants to choose from.

The staff were simply fantastic, the food at the La Sala restaurant is amazing. We tried both Thai and Indian and loved it. The General Manager, James and his team are so welcoming and humble. We traveled with our 18 month old son and all his needs were swiftly attended to. I would definitely recommend this property for a relaxing and enjoyable stay Just make sure you use the mosquito repellent they provide..I forgot to and got bitten everywhere!

Nice relaxing resort
Overall, we enjoyed our stay with this hotel. The service at the breakfast restaurant was wonderful and there was a huge variety of food for us to choose from. The servers were friendly and very hospitable especially to my two year old daughter. The downside is that the food is on the pricier end compared to the restaurants nearby. Also if you’re looking to head out to patong/ neighbouring areas, expect to atleast a 50 mins car ride. Having said that, it’s only 20 mins from the airport which is great when you’re traveling with kids.

The services are the most impressed by both my wife and I. The staff from different departments are all so excellent. Service was excellent. Our butler helped us find activities and made reservations for us at a nearby spa. We were there during monsoon season, but despite the forecast, it only rained on one of four days. This resort has multiple nice pools and beach access. Some amenities were overpriced, but as a whole the trip was well worth the money. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation.
