A seaside hotel
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Everything was ok, the hotel is a creative design and has a great pool and some great views depending on your room. The staff are friendly enough but some of them are clearly only there because they are paid and don't add to your experience. The spa is expensive and so is the food neither living up the the premium price tag. You have to be ready for a lot of walking as the hotel is definitely split level. The reception, restaurant and common areas do not have AC which can make for a sweaty time...... Overall a hotel that provides a appropriate service to it's location, a typical UK seaside hotel...... Basil!!! :)

Great Hotel
Posted Jan 27, 2013
Pros: The air conditioning was excellent and was used 24/7. The restaurant was lovely and the daily breakfast was great.
Cons: The pool was good but could have been colder as the days were extremely hot. A bit of a hike from our room to the front foyer.
Location: The location was good, although it was a bit of a distance to the main shopping stalls, we had to catch tuk tuk's and taxis.
The hotel was very interesting, climbing on the side of a mountain, it looked quite small when we arrived as the foyer was very narrow, once we were directed to our room we found the hotel to be much bigger than expected. We had to take 3 different lifts to our room, only one lift ride to the pool and restaurant, both were excellent. The only negataive was the walls were a bit thin as we could hear others. The air conditioning in the room was used constantly. Most of the staff were great, some a little hard in understanding english but they all went out of their way to try and help us.

Improve the soundproofing system
Posted Jan 25, 2013
The rooms soundproofing system is not good enough. We have experience in the midnight, some of the guests shouting, talking and slam the door very loud till as late as 2 a.m ……

Sore shins.
Posted Jan 15, 2013
Pros: Stepping from the balcony into the pool.
Cons: The dangerous bed base.
Location: Centrally located close to Family Mart, laundrys, money changers etc. 5 min walk to beach.
Rooms were quite roomy but there were no drawers except a desk drawer which meant living out of a suitcase and the limited shelf space barely 10cm wide. The kige size double was comfortable but the wooden base protruded by approx 30cm either side with sharp edges which resulted in the occasional bruise or cut to the shins especially until used to the set up. ( Our travelling companions in other rooms made the same negative observations ). Otherwise, the hotel and staff were very good.

Pros: Views Food Close to everything
Cons: The lift and at times i wished it was in a quitier area
Location: The location was good because its on Patong beach therefore close to shops tuk tuks everything
We stayed at sea sun sand for 4 nights.it was a very nice hotel and clean. The food was very nice and excellent price. The service was great. The views were amazing and the staff were frieny and helpful. The only issue i had was the lift it was stufy and smelly they need to invest in an aircondition in the lift but it wasnt a big deal because were only in it for a few mintues. The views from the restaurant and the pool is just amazing. It is on the main rd so expect it to be loud even in the room at night u will hear cars driving past but it didnt bother us

Good location but average decor
Posted Jan 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
Was in a good location, close to few things, almost in CBD. We end up walking to the jetty( ferry to Fremantle), abut 15 min walk each way. Shops are on the doorsteps and about 30 min drive from airport. Room were OK, average décor and carpet looked really old( which they mentioned was getting replaced). They overbooked and gave us a three bed bedroom instead of single. Breakfast buffet was 10 and 17 bucks(extra with option of hot food) was average but staff in cafe were really helpful. You have to pay about 15 bucks a night for car park as we end up using as there was tow away zone outside the hotel in weekdays mornings otherwise weekends were free on road. Beds were really comfortable but rooms were really noisy, i think they need to think up noise insulation as we could here lift like anything , which was right behind our suite
