“Midwest visiting the East”

If you are willing to splurge, this hotel is a fantastic paradise in Phuket. Surin Beach where this is hotel is located is upscale, but bargains can still be found by walking a few blocks. The breakfast at the hotel, which is included, is great. The other meals at the restaurant are hit or miss. Stick to Thai Food & make sure you ask for extra spicy if you want something that isn't entirely trying to cater to a bland western pallet. And, in a country where wine can sometimes be hard to find, this hotel has a great wine list, but, be sure to be specific on what you are asking for, since sometimes there is a language barrier. The hotel staff is great and VERY responsive to needs. The hotel also has great attention to detail with even having the beautiful landscaped grounds have signs regarding the plants that are planted. As two women traveling, we felt very safe at this hotel & they had a lot of security -- even helping you cross the busy road. The one issue I had with the hotel is that they advertise a shuttle to several places, but then charge you for the shuttle. If they are advertising a shuttle, then the service should be free. If not, then be upfront about this. If you are looking for night life, be ready to pay to get to Patong & back. If not, this location is ideal. The spa is very nice, but you are paying western prices. You can walk a few blocks to a local spa and have treatments at half the price. But, the spa was still wonderful.

“Excellent Option on Phuket”

The rooms are beautiful, quiet and quite comfortable. Surin Beach, down the hill from the hotel, is a quick 1-2 minute shuttle ride away. The beach is simply stunning. If you want to relax, this is the place for you. The insanity, crowds and noise of Bangla Beach are far enough away - 20 minutes by cab. If you want to go you can, but you can certainly avoid it. Downsides: service is well meaning but a bit slow and the internet access can be sketchy. There are quite a lot of stairs between the lobby and the rooms, so if handicapped access is an issue for you this hotel is not a good option. Bottom line: we highly recommend if you are looking for a tranquil spot to unwind.

“Would definitely go back”

The pictures on the website portrayed what you see in person. If you like what you see on the website you will enjoy this place. Staff was very friendly and helpful. surrounding area not great but we did like it better then the patong area. Patong as good to visit for a day (easy enough to get to by taxi) but the area was much too busy for our relaxing type of holiday.

“This is not a hotel, but a group of Beautiful Villas in amongst beautiful gardens, and waterfalls”

This was a fantastic experience, from the beautifull gardens, wonderfull staff, beautifull food and cocktails. to our beautifil villa, that had outdoor waterfall, that our bedroom and rain shower opened upto, to the whirl pool on the deck which we used every day, to the fruit baskets deliverd every other day. It was an amazing experience...We LOVED it.

Area recommendations
We recommend using Ayara Hilltops private beach. We would head there each morning after breakfast to swim and hang in the sun, but you could have great coffee there and it was peacefull. Pla seafood on Surin Beach at night was fantastic, amazing food, drinks, music and atmosphere if you did not want to eat at Ayara Hilltops, however it was difficult to do this, as Ayaras food, drinks, music, staff and the magical surrounds can be hard to leave. We recommend the Phang Nga Bay tour, you see of the most amazing scenery on the planet, amazing islands, and beaches. You snorkel on reefs, visit fishing villages and see so much breath taking scenery all via speedboat...BRILLIANT.....We would recommend visiting the world largest sitting Buddah, give offerings of food to the monks, you are then blessed, this was all amazing, and to this day i still wear the cord bracelet the monk gave me after the blessing, this was part of a cultural tour of Phuket, which took in Buddah, Phuket town, lunch in the mountains, a cashew factory,( which was an eye opener), and some serious shopping. However we did find buying silk and trinkets the best value when sellers would approach you on the beach.

“Fabulous, relaxing experience, love it!”

Fantastic hotel, not the most popular in the neighborhood. Nice decent size, not big comparing to many other hotels in the neighborhood, however the service was impeccable. All staff had a genuine smile on their face and the service was really warm and tailoring to individual needs. Great view and nice decor, housekeeping was polite and very thorough and very understanding of our needs. Breakfast was medium sized but ok, selection was not as big as the chain hotels. Food at the restaurant was ok as well. Spa service was nice, however we paid for a 3.5h treatment but the actual duration was 3h, not sure what happened there, but the experience was relaxing.The hotel is not on the beach, however hotel has a shuttle that would take you there if you do want some time on the beach. But you know what, the hotel is so nice that t's great to just stay by the pool and sip on cold drinks all day everyday. I choose that over staying on the beach where it's overly crowded. Great place to stay if you are looking for some tranquil time and peace.

“Outstanding Service”

I have traveled to many countries, but this was my first time to Phuket, Thailand. I was amazed at the quality of service we received at Ayara Hilltops. Our room was cleaned more than once a day, and the concierge and wait staff were so friendly and so helpful! Surin beach is quiet and peaceful and there were buggy rides ( 2 minute rides) from the hotel there and back at our whim. The views from the hilltops are gorgeous. I highly recommend this resort.

“Beach Access”

Hotel is a little far from beach. Hotel compensates by shuttling to/from whenever asked and are very prompt, but I prefer to be able to walk to/from beach and it is farther than a comfortable walk. Loved everything else and would stay again b/c all other services made up for the beach access.
