“Nice Resort”

First of all the Hotel's location was good considering that i was travelling with a family with small kids. Karon Beach is not the liveliest of all beaches but enough for my liking. The hotel was nice but not spectacular; the lobby was no where close to attractive ( I have seen better lobbies in cheaper hotels). The villas on the other hand are well built within beautiful gardens with a great variety of tropical plants and this is what I like the most about this Resort (feels like living in a jungle). The food was the worst I ate in my entire tour of Thailand; certainly not what I expected.

“Nice resort near Karon Beach”

This is the second time I have stayed here. The breakfast buffet is very very good. The grounds are also very nice. The rooms are fine but the villas are much nicer. The service is OK but the internet is an issue. There was no internet other than using a computer in the library.

“Great place for families”

We were very happy with this good hotel, with only one-minute-access to the nice Karon beach. The hotel had all facilities in top shape and service was friendly as well. The recidence suites were absolutely nice and comfortable for our family with 3 kids - with a beautiful view to the sea and sunset.

Area recommendations

Karon beach because it is family friendly and quiet compared to Patong beach. Also Raya island was a very nice place for diving.

“Karon Beach tropical paradise”

This was the best hotel I have been to in Thailand. And for the price it was also a good value. It is situated right across from Karon Beach. It had a great pool, beautiful gardens and the room was amazing. On top of this, the service and cleanliness was also top notch. I noticed that the restaurants were pricey. So if you want a better value meal, it is also near to some basic restaurants and hawker stalls. Down the street, it also has a local night market behind the hotel. And heading South on the Beach Road is a great local market selling souvenir items. Can't wait to go back!

Area recommendations

I love Karon Beach. It still has a lot going on with restaurants, tours and markets but isn't as crazy as Patong. This trip was awesome!

Family-friendly activities

We went on the James Bond island day trip. It is a great trip for kids that can swim some. My kids are 11 and 12 and had a great time. It included a buffet lunch, kayaking and some swimming at a secluded beach. Last year, we also took the 5 island snorkeling boat trip that included Maya Beach and Phi Phi island. Also, a great trip for kids that can swim fairly well. One bit of advice: Be sure to check the pricing at the tour shops in the town besides checking your hotel. They are usually 1/2 the price and basically the same excursion.

“strongly recommended”

We took a family trip about 6 days. Food, staff, location are all over our expectation. the resort is very relaxing. We love everything about this hotel and definitely choose it again.

“Highly recommend Movenpick Karon”

I would still highly recommend Movenpick Karon Beach and would go back in an instant and these are really nit picky things but I thought I would share them. Best restaurant was Talay - walk out of the resort on the beach side and turn right - little grass hut - amazing cocktails, food and service. Ging restaurant (turn left and then left down the little road past the markets) was also wonderful and the girls there absolutely spoilt my kids, painting fingernails, letting them sit on the motorbikes out the front etc - they were brilliant.

“A Beautiful Resort”

I extremely enjoyed staying in Movenpick Karon Beach. The residences complex is the best choice inside the Movenpick. The view from the balcony is breathtaking and relaxing. Kids enjoyed the pool and the beach, which is across the street from the Residence. The staff was sooo friendly and always trying to help with a beautiful smile.

Must see

Elephant Safari, Phi Phi Island with snorkling, Wat Chalong temple and Jung Ceylon Mall are the most recommended places to visit.

“Best hotel in Phuket”

We rated our two nights in Movenpick as best hotel on a 28 day tour around Asia. Best breakfast buffet and beautiful grounds. Lovely ambience in the foyer as well.
