“Patong without being in Patong”

This Hotel was great, it was out first time to Thailand and we were greeted with a room upgrade to a junior suite which was lovely. Massive, comforatble king size bed. the hotel is situated in a quiet location and an easy walk to the beach across the road at Kalim Bay. This hotel is just north of Patong which was great it allowed us to avoid the hustle and bustle of Patong itself and the beach was so much quieter. We hired a scooter so it was easy to get in and out of Central patong at any time. The restaurant attached to the hotel was also great, good value and good food and cocktails too. Breakfast was very good value being included with the room, a huge variety of food and it all looked fresh and tasty. Our room was cleaned daily, the only downside was the bathrooom was a little bit dirty but otherwise wonderful.

This was absolute value for money, a little far out of town but they have a 30 min courtesy bus. The breakfast Buffet is fantastic, the ocean is practically lapping at your door. Only one complaint..the pool closes at 7pm..thats a bit annoying, but everythign else is great!!

My wife and I really enjoyed the room, the pool, and the service. The room was always cleaned everyday. The breakfast was always excellent. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

“Best hotel at Kalim bay”

A very good location and comfortable to stay .Not far from Patong beach only 1000 metrs I think.And take more adventage of Pating beach because not too very busy to rest .Not too big hotel especially room is very close to beach .Just cross over the road then you can reach beach.

The hotel was in a perfect position - and having a beach directly opposite the hotel was a bonus. The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and very helpful. Hotel food was great. The tuk tuk shuttle service to Patong was reliable and safe. This was a perfect holiday with a young child.

“Would be glad to return, despite some problems”

My overall experience at the sunset Beach Hotel was excellent, marred only by a few incidents. Check-in was very stressful as I was asked for documents I did not have to hand and a large deposit on my credit card, which was unavailable at the bottom of my luggage. The staff spoke very little English which made things much harder - admittedly I speak no Thai but I expect a certain level of language competence in a tourist hotel of this size attracting international business. The biggest problem of all was the poor internet access. The hotel charges a huge amount for wifi access (£11 for one day; £20 for four days as at Feb 2012). The signal was virtually inaccessible in my room; I wasted many hours trying to get a connection and carrying my laptop down to reception and back to prove my point. Other guests also had problems. As a non-technical person I had no idea what to do. Eventually my pleading (and a handwritten letter to the manager on Day 3) won me a transfer to a different room where the signal worked but often struggled to handle more complex websites. On the plus side, all but one of the staff were unfailingly friendly and courteous, for all that they had little power to do anything. Attention to detail, especially in the breakfast restaurant, was superb. The pool and associated facilities were excellent. The standard-cost room was large and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the aircon very efficient.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, we travelled with 3 teens, they loved the pool area and the internet cafe ,just down the alleyway. Get your laundry done around the corner from hotel, very cheap. Restaurant at hotel was well priced & food was good.

“Value for money”

We reached Phuket by a late night flight and stayed here only for one night to save some money. We moved to a fancy resort the following day. On the whole great value for money. The rooms were clean and the atmosphere at the pool/bars/restaurant was decent. The restaurant and service were average.

“Nice hotel, but a bit far away”

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed this hotel as it is a good price for the hotel, the only disapointing aspect about this place is that it is about 20-30mins walk into patong town and there isn't a good pathway as sometimes you are walking on the road with cars and bikes speeding round the corner which makes it kinda dangerous.. There is a free "bus" provided by the hotel but it only operates 9am-9pm and does get packed.. Other times you will have to pay 200baht for a tuk tuk back to the hotel..
