"Great location in the heart of the Pico de Europas"
Three night stay in this popular and well located hotel. Arrival efficiently handled, in English, and we were shown to our room. Room a reasonable size, with an enclosed balcony. Decoration is either 'traditional mountain character', or slightly 1990's depending on your tastes, but smart, clean and all functional. Beds were harder than we would prefer, but then we find this a common problem so perhaps just us. Dined on the first night. Very busy with coach party. Staff coped well enough and food good but not memorable. Comfortable, large, guest lounge available. Breakfast good selection, and again okay but not memorable. Buy tickets for cable car at hotel and get a discount. Internet speedy, free, and we had no issues connecting or with signal strength in our room. There is a great sunny terrace, but we found getting service for drinks or a snack frustrating, mostly because there was only one member of staff available who was serving, clearing, and washing. On a sunny Friday and Saturday afternoon, this was surprising and apart from our frustration, the hotel is not making the most of the opportunity to service passing trade. Similarly, at breakfast, seemingly only one staff member was doing greeting, receipts, and table service, resulting is some long waits and confusion for some guests. Overall, the Parador de Fuente De is okay with reasonably priced rooms in a great location, but could be better with some attention to staff numbers and organization.
