Basic hotelPosted Jul 21, 2014
Did not feel very safe as a family as the whole place was packed with bikers. Everyone sat in front of the hotel all evening and as early as 0800 am drinking beer. Staff was nice but this made the stay feel unsafe for family.

Great HotelPosted Jul 5, 2014
For the price, the Governor's Inn is excellent. Staff is wonderful, rooms are clean & comfortable, and the continental breakfast is typical of more expensive chain hotels. Location is great as you'll be right by beautiful Steamboat Park which borders the Missouri River. The only downside (not much of one) is that there is no elevator, so make sure to obtain a first floor room if that is an issue.

Not worth saving the moneyPosted Jun 1, 2014
My wife and I were going to make it into Pierre late, and leave early the next morning, so we decided to save a little money and stay at the Governor's Inn. The room was very outdated and dingy, there was long hair in the bed (neither of us have long hair), and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Neither of us really got any sleep, and in our haste to depart (we decided to wait until the next hotel to shower due to the lack of cleanliness) we ended up leaving a hanging bag of clothes in the closet, which we didn't discover for another few hundred miles. The staff was extremely pleasant to deal with, and made it very easy to swing back through town on our way home to retrieve the clothing. Overall, we won't stay there again, but the staff was definitely a bright spot.

good room for family of 4Posted Aug 20, 2012
Room was a little small with the queen beds. Building and rooms showed wear, but not uncomfortable. Pool and hot tub area very clean and in great condition. Room came with fridge, microwave and hair dryer, all handy. There was a coin operated laundry that was easily accessible. Breakfast was good with hot waffles and biscuits and gravy available.

Good place to stayPosted Feb 17, 2011
The room was large and had an outside entrance. The shower curtain didn't fit quite right and there was some leakage. The room had a microwave and small fridge. Not a luxury hotel, but the price was right.

great hotelPosted Jan 20, 2011
The hotel was easy to find and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. As I checked in they had soup and sandwhiches for nothing. The room was clean and would stay there again

Not a good value.Posted Oct 20, 2010
Pool area was dirty with standing water...daughter slipped and hit her head, beds were lacking, TV reception was poor, room seemed crowded with furniture. The complimentary iced tea and cookies were nice. The breakfast was also good. Front desk help was kind and helpful.---Overall, the property felt outdated and a little run down. Not was I was anticipating for price paid.
