Close to the beach but dated uncomfortable, smallPosted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: very good value for the week. great views from rooftops
Cons: comfiness of beds, decor, room sizes, tv, swimming pool, bathrooms, vegeterian options, balconies, drinks in evening, drinks at breakfast.
Location: very close to beach, restaurants, shops and train station
i requested a double bed but got two twins which were very uncomfetable. the decor was very dated and some mould in bathroom. I am vegetarian so more options at breakfast and dinner would be good. no complemetary drinks at dinner, water would of been a start. drinks at breakfast very sweeta nd artificial could of greatly benefitted from fresh juice. swimming pool very small.

Pros: The staff are so helpful, they always have a smile on their face.
Cons: The furnishings could do with updating.
Location: Located within walking distance of the beach, shops and restaurants.
The staff are very helpful. Rooms are pleasant, with air-conditioning. Food excellent, entertainment excellent. Excursions are easily booked and reasonably priced. My overall stay in the Hotel Merce was fantastic, I definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to visit again any time.

great budget hotelPosted Jun 19, 2013
Pros: Free WiFi
Cons: UThe slamming of doors
Room was old and furniture tired but the hotel was spotless and they obviously take a lot of pride in their work. Breakfast was good but would have been excellent if there was more fruit on offer, it is central to everywhere that I needed and wouldnt hesitate to return again

Very nice hotel in quiet resort, staff helpful and friendly. Very good choice of food but not that hot. Wish we had used the microwave that was on the side but didn't like too. No complaints. Ideal choice for a break if you want to see the local resort not a typical Brits abroad location.

Persevere for a good roomPosted Jul 20, 2012
Pros: position price
Cons: variable service room with patio doors onto thoroughfare
Location: 10 minutes from the railway station and beach. 3 minutes from the coach stop On the edge of the town centre
The first room I was gven had glass patio doors onto the main thoroughfare. It felt very vulnerable and I had to keep the screens shut. It was on the first floor and very noiy at night. The shower attachment would not clip on the wall. I asked to move rooms and was told to return at 10.00 a.m. then at 11.00 a.m. and again at 12.00. The third time I was told I would have another room later in the day and should pack and put my belongings in the luggage room and reurn in the evening! In fact they did give me a new room on the 4th floor at 2.00. However I was given a key and not a key card. Thankfully a maid was available to let me place my luggage in the room otherwise I should have had to carry my luggage downstairs again. The reception staff were very mixed. Some were very helpful but one gave the impression that she was very busy and everyone was disturbing her. The food is adequate with sufficient variety. Given the price I was not expected wonderful cuisine. The hotel is well placed within the town and I would certainly think about returning.

Lone traveller welcomedPosted Sep 22, 2011
Next to a beautiful old church and about a 10 minute walk from the beach, the Merce is a welcoming and comfortable place. Only wanted bed and breakfast so can't comment on food. Staff helpful and friendly. Lovely pool and sun trap on roof, nice long beach with cooling breezes. Old town very pleasant for a stroll as is the promenade by the sea.

Great Hotel for a great price!Posted Aug 2, 2011 on Hotels.com
The hotel is located in the city centre - close to shops, restaurants, beach and sea. For a great price we had accommodation with buffet breakfast & dinner - every time we were full after meal:)))))) The room could be cleaner but it's not a 5 star hotel. English is no problem here, you can speak German as well. Close to Barcelona. I would recommend this hotel - we had lovely holiday in Hotel Merce:))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
