Homey Place!!Posted Jun 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
We, my husband and I, loved it. It was a perfect stay. We were just passing by Pisa for the night and were very pleased we could find this affordable place conveniently close to the airport. The service is A-1, and the place is comfortable and clean. We also liked that even though is close to the airport is very peaceful to rest. Doina and her daughter were very sweet and nice to wait for us late at night. We highly recommend La Casa Doina!!!

Like a nightmare to get inPosted Apr 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
I arrived at the hotel at 2200. I went there and rang the door bell on their front gate, nothing. Ring, ring ring, for 5 minutes, nothing. In desperation I rang the neighbor's bell several times, got yelled at by them each time. I jumped the fence (since their gate was locked) to knock on their door directly, no answer, plus the neighbor came up and yelled at me in my face. I had no signal on my cell phone (I suppose it was still trying to find the Italian network, since we had just landed), so I had to go back to the airport to call them. Finally got ahold of the lady and was able to get inside. It was a terrible introduction to Pisa.

The owners of the hotel are lovely and were really helpful. However, it was the worst hotel we have stayed in. The rooms were not very comfortable (bed and pillows were lumpy), the shower room was small and cramped (and the light is on a sensor so goes off when you are showering!) and the free wifi did not work. There was no phone in the room which made it impossible to complain when the other residents of the hotel were having a very loud all night party (and also someone was hoovering upstairs in the wee small hours) I wouldn't recommend this hotel as we didn't get very much sleep. The only things going for it are the lovely owners and the proximity to the airport.

excellent stopover after a late night flightPosted Jan 11, 2012 on Hotels.com
Having booked a flight that arrived just when the car hire offices shut, we needed a comfortable place to stay near Pisa airport. Casa Doina was that place! It was easy to find - just follow the train platform to the end and turn left - the road to Casa Doina is pretty much the next right. Signora was waiting for us and greeted us warmly. She certainly was not put out by our late arrival. Our room was attractive and very comfortable. Sure, we had a communal bathroom, but that wasn't a problem at all. Although breakfast wasn't included, we found an excellent cafe very near by and were able to get cappucini and croissant at a very reasonable price before heading back to the airport car hire offices. By foot, the walk was 7 or 8 minutes at most.

Casa Doina - great way to unwind after a flightPosted Sep 12, 2011 on Hotels.com
The Casa Doina near the Pisa airport was a lovely wee tonic after a late flight. Arriving at the hotel at nealry 10pm, we were met by a friendly face, signed in, shown up to our room and then offered refreshments out in the patio garden. After a late flight and the warmth of a muggy Italian night, a cold bear and some fresh peanust really hit the spot. We slept well and only a 5 minute walk back to the train station at the airport and we were under way for the rest of the holiday.

Good B&B in proximity to Pisa AirportPosted Dec 11, 2010
Good economical choice if catching an early flight out of Pisa or arriving there after long transatlantic cramped crowded flight to help deal with jet lag. Leading negatives are lack of English language TV channels and shared bathroom. Leading positives are free WiFi high speed internet and complimentary continental breakfast.
