Pisa short city breakPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: Close to the beach, city and the airport, but not in the middle of the city
Cons: Nothing much.
Location: Mentioned above
Hotel in general, was pleasant and very clean. Room was clean and spacious, with balcony overlooking the sea. Continental breakfast was adequate. Close to the airport, 15-20 minutes by car. About 30 minutes to Pisa for sightseeing or the railway station. (parking no problem) Spent one day sightseeing in Florence. Travelled by train, trip take about an hour. Walk to the beach is about 10 minutes. Walk to some good food restaurants is about 5 minutes. Golf course, which I did not play, is also very close by. (just over the road) All in all, a pleasant three night stay.

Stay somewhere else.Posted Oct 16, 2013
Location: It is near the leaning tower of Pisa, aprrox. 15 min by car.
Avoid this hotel, it is old and hasn't been updated in at least 30 years and it shows. I don't understand how this hotel gets more than a 1 star rating. The hot water was brown when I went to take a shower, even after letting it run for sometime.

the grand golf hotel pisa, Italy.Posted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: the free and easy atmosphere and pretty surroundings.
Cons: the evening meal was fairly small, more potatoes!
Location: lovely views to the beach from balcony about half a mile away. nice pool and sunloungers. nice place to cycle or take the bus into pisa.
very relaxing stay, quiet and friendly staff. pretty country surroundings. not many shops around so more time for the beach and walking. spacious bedroom, dining room, lounge and pool. nice relaxed atmosphere about the hotel. need a bike to reach the food shops or a car we walked to the village about half a mile and enjoyed the country lanes that we would have missed by car.

Short stay in TirreniaPosted Aug 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed for 2 days for a beach holidays. The location was not very good for this purpose as there were other hotels closer to the beach (but I'm not sure about their cost). Apart from this - the hotel is quite nice but needs some repair.

Great poolPosted Jul 14, 2013
Pros: Pool , staff wi fi
Cons: tired funishings
Location: Near beach, accept the fact that you have to pay for it normal in Italy
Hotel looking a little tired for a 4 star but staff very helpfull, pool area very good but not sure it would be ok if very busy. Appartment ok but limited cooking facilities would have been nice to have a toaster, kettle and iron, was pleased I took my own kettle. happy overall as it was near enough to the beach.

Excellent for the price.Posted Jun 25, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness, comfort, free parking.
Cons: Some of the rooms have old-fashioned TVs.
Location: The beach is close by.
The hotel has aged gracefully enough. When I was a teenager, it was a very high class hotel, many film stars stayed there, Sophia Loren, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor etc. I met Fred Astaire and Richard Crenna there, I went to Livorno American High School nearby at Camp Darby, and the Grand Hotel Golf was the venue of our Junior Prom and the two actors were staying there while shooting a movie at the nearby studios. While it no longer has the splendor it once had, it is very comfortable and you would be hard pressed to find any hotel in the area with a better price/performance.

Excellant choice - good valuePosted Jun 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
Most enjoyable - arrived a couple of hours before check in - and room was ready and allowed to move in. Free computer in hotel reception. Staff most helpful - good choice on breakfast. Overall although in some respects a little dated - a good choice at the right price

Grand hotel golfPosted May 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room, bed, bathroom and balcony was huge! There was amazing views from the balcony too. However, there was a lot of red ants and tiny spider like insects all over the balcony. It was infested. There was a lot of ants in the room as well. The hotel is a little dilapidated and in need of a little TLC but overall it was nice enough specially for the price.
