“Close to tower”

A small family owned property on a reasonably quiet street about 10 minutes from the tower complex. Somr rooms are very small (106), some are nice and large (320), also be aware that there are rooms in the hotel that do not have a bath ensuite. The breakfast is adequate and the people are as nice as you could ask for (I do not speak Italian, which was not a problem).

Area recommendations
This area because it is central to attractions, food and shopping.
Getting around
Beware the Pisa taxi operators. Our trip from the airport to the hotel (less than 3 km) was 17 euros. The trip back to the airport was 7 euros. We were stranded due to the volcano, so the airline put us up in a hotel in Tirrenia for 2 days. Being on our own after that we asked how much the taxi would be to get back to central Pisa (15 km), and were told it would be about 50 euros. The hotel took us to the train station for 20 euros, and the taxi to the other hotel (2 km) was 12 euros). Walking is the best way to get anywhere, except the airport.
